Abstract

The clip is intended for securing wall or ceiling panels with contoured edge flanges and can be secured to a carrier. It comprises at least four radially spaced panel-securing projections (I-IV) on the side away from the carrier which are provided with panel flange locking contours (27,30,31,29). - Three projections (I,II and IV) each have a laterally inward contour (27,30,29) whilst the other (II) is spaced from the first to hold two adjoining panels between them and the remaining projections (III and IV). A further contour (31) of the projections is provided, to permit holding two further single panels. The third and fourth projections (III and IV) are arranged outwards of the first and second (I and II), the further contour (31) being provided on the third projection.

   De uitvinding heeft betrekking op een paneel-   bevestigingsklip voor wand- of   plafondbekledingen e. d. Er bestaan diverse uitvoeringsvormen van dergelijke bekledingen en   een   daarvan heeft panelen met opstaande langsranden, waarbij deze   langsranden-aan   hun vrije einden kunnen zijn geprofileerd, bijv. omgekraald. 



   Het Belgische octrooi Nr.   895. 107   beschrijft een dergelijke klip. 



   Deze klip omvat een lichaam voorzien van ten minste vier   t. o. v.   elkaar zijdelings op een afstand gelegen, van de drager-bevestigingszijde af gerichte vasthoudorganen, waarbij het eerste en het vierde van genoemde vasthoudorganen elk zijn voorzien van een zijdelings naar binnen gericht grendeldeel, bijv.

   een nok, terwijl het tweede vasthoudorgaan een zodanige zijdelingse afstand van het eerste heeft, dat twee aangrenzende langsranden van naast elkaar liggende panelen aaneensluitend opgesloten kunnen worden tussen het eerste en tweede vasthoudorgaan, waartoe ook het tweede vasthoudorgaan voorzien is van een zijdelings, naar het eerste vasthoudorgaan gerichte grendeldeel, en dit tweede vasthoudorgaan verder een zijdelings naar het derde vasthoudorgaan gericht grendeldeel en een zodanige afstand tot dit derde vasthoudorgaan bezit, dat een langsrand van een paneel tussen het tweede en derde vasthoudorgaan opgesloten kan worden en het derde vasthoudorgaan eveneens een zodanige afstand tot het vierde bezit dat   een   langsrand van een    enkele   paneel tussen het derde en vierde vasthoudorgaan opgesloten kan worden. 



   Volgens genoemd octrooi sluiten het eerste en vierde vasthoudorgaan zich bij voorkeur aan de resp. zijwanden van het lichaam om het mogelijk te maken de klip te gebruiken om panelen in de onmiddellijke nabijheid van een, het te bekleden vlak begrenzende, wand- of plafond-

   Men heeft thans bemerkt dat een constructie waarbij het derde en vierde vasthoudorgaan buitenwaarts ten opzichte van het eerste en het tweede geplaatst zijn en waarbij het vierde grendeldeel voorzien is op het derde vasthoudorgaan eveneens bijzonderevoordelen biedt. 



   Deze uitvinding wordt hierna toegelicht aan de hand van bijgevoegde tekeningen waarin fig. 1 een eindaanzicht toont van de klip volgens een voorkeursuitvoering van het basisoctrooi en fig. 2 een gelijkaardig aanzicht toont van de klip volgens de in onderhavige uitvinding voorgestelde variante. 



   De in de figuren gebruikte verwijzingscijfers zijn gekozen zoals voor het basisoctrooi. 



   Deze constructie volgens deze uitvinding is bijzonder veelzijdig en zal vooral voor de doe het zelvers tal van nieuwe mogelijkheden scheppen.

   The invention relates to a panel mounting clip for wall or ceiling coverings e. d. Various embodiments of such coatings exist, and one has panels with upright longitudinal edges, these longitudinal edges being profiled, e.g., beaded, at their free ends.



   The Belgian patent no. 895, 107 describes such a clip.



   This cliff comprises a body with at least four tons. o. for mutually laterally spaced retaining members facing away from the carrier mounting side, the first and fourth of said retaining members each having a laterally inwardly directed locking member, e.g.

   a cam, while the second holding member is laterally spaced from the first such that two adjacent longitudinal edges of adjacent panels can be contiguously sandwiched between the first and second holding members, including the second holding member laterally to the first locking member directed to the holding member, and this second holding member further has a locking member directed laterally to the third holding member and has a distance to this third holding member such that a longitudinal edge of a panel can be enclosed between the second and third holding member and the third holding member also such a distance to the fourth feature that a longitudinal edge of a single panel can be sandwiched between the third and fourth retaining members.



   According to said patent, the first and fourth holding members preferably join the resp. side walls of the body to allow the clip to be used to fasten panels in the immediate vicinity of a wall or ceiling bounding the surface to be coated

   It has now been found that a structure in which the third and fourth retaining members are positioned outwardly of the first and second and wherein the fourth locking member is provided on the third retaining member also offers particular advantages.



   The present invention is explained below with reference to the annexed drawings, in which Fig. 1 shows an end view of the clip according to a preferred embodiment of the basic patent and Fig. 2 shows a similar view of the clip according to the variant proposed in the present invention.



   The reference numerals used in the figures are chosen as for the basic patent.



   This construction according to the invention is extremely versatile and will create numerous new possibilities especially for the do-it-yourselfers.

Claims

Conclusion A panel mounting clip for a wall or ceiling cladding e. d. the panels of which have upright longitudinal edges, which clip can be attached to a carrier, the clip comprising a body provided with at least four t. o. for retaining members facing each other at a distance from one another at a distance from the carrier mounting side and from at least four locking parts associated with these retaining members, e.g.

cams, the first, second and fourth of said retaining members each having a laterally inwardly facing latch member, while the second retaining member is laterally spaced from the first such that two adjacent panels can be contiguously sandwiched between the first and second retaining members while the third and fourth of said retaining members occupy a further laterally directed latch portion on the cliff such that two further spaces are formed each of which can receive and retain a single panel, characterized in that the third and fourth retaining members are outward. o. v. the first and the second EMI4.1 the fourth locking member is provided on the third retaining member.
