EMI1.1
EMI1.2
...................
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
La présente invention a pour buts : - de remédier aux inconvénients énumérés ci-dessus ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

EMI1.1
------------------- Device for positioning and locking discs in a housing.
EMI1.2
...................
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The present invention relates to a device for positioning a disc in its housing and is based on the observation that in the case of storage or selection housing (magazine for changers) it is important to ensure perfect immobility and blocking. of the disc and to ensure that no friction contact of one of the faces of the disc with elements of the housing, in particular a wall, can take place.
As a particular application, mention should be made of discs of the "Compact Disc" type.
Here is the problem :
Any disc, 45 rpm as well as 33 rpm, or "Compact Disc" type disc is sensitive to scratches, scratches, scratches that can be caused on its information-carrying surface (s).
Such damage interferes with the reading and / or recording of the data contained on the disc; this is why it is recommended to handle the discs only by holding them by their periphery and by avoiding them any contact with any surface.
To solve these problems, a particular type of housing has been proposed in which the disc is kept away from the walls of the housing by a part cooperating with its central opening.
However, such a solution requires delicate and complicated handling and, on the other hand, can only be applied to an individual dwelling and not to a set of juxtaposed housings.
On the other hand, it cannot be certain that the disc does not come at any time into contact with one of the elements (walls, etc.) of said housing because it is only held by its central part.
The present invention aims to: - remedy the drawbacks listed above;
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
- to propose very simple and very reliable means which can easily be applied to mass production; - to keep the cost at a very low level.
With a view to achieving these aims, the device which is the subject of the invention is characterized by blocking means comprising at least one fixed tab and at least one movable tab cooperating with the periphery of the disc to keep the disc away from the wall or walls of said housing.
In order to clearly understand the invention, a nonlimiting exemplary embodiment will be described below with reference to the drawings in which:
Figure 1 is a view for showing the various elements of the device in the insertion or ejection position of a disc.
Figure 2 is a partial front view of a store having several housings.
Figure 3 is a section through line III-III in Figure 2.
Figure 4 shows all the elements in the immobilization position of the disc in its housing.
FIG. 5 shows a single control acting on the housings of the same store.
FIG. 6 represents two juxtaposed housings arranged perpendicular to an arc of a circle.
The following description is given for the case of a preferred embodiment, namely housings forming part of a magazine for "Compact Disc" type discs.
These housings 11 which receive the disks 10 consist of a series of walls 1 (FIGS. 1 to 3) which advantageously can be in the form of a half-bowl as described in Belgian patent No 891. 428 in the name of the Applicant.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Each wall 1 has two fixed legs 5-7 each provided with a V-shaped groove 9 (Figure 2) and provided so that the disc 10 comes to be positioned there by its periphery.
On an axis 3 forming part of the wall 1 is mounted so as to be able to pivot a lever 12 subjected to the action of a spring 13 fixed on the one hand to a stud 23 carried by the lever 12 and on the other to a projection 24 provided on the wall 1 of the housing 11.
At each of its ends, this lever carries a lug 15-17 of which at least the lug 15 also has a V-shaped groove 9.
At the end situated on the side of the tab 15 and of the axis of rotation 3, the lever 12 is shaped so as to give rise to a handle or handle 20 making it possible to control the pivoting of the lever 12.
On this lever 12 is fixed a stud 21 engaging in a groove 22 in an arc formed in the wall 1 so as to guide the pivoting of the lever 12.
As is apparent from the storage position, shown in FIG. 4, thanks to the cooperation of the fixed legs 5 and 7 and of the movable leg 15, subjected to the influence of the spring 13, the disc 10 is held by its periphery in a position of perfect immobility and its two faces are thus protected from any damage since away from the walls of said housing.
When a disc must be ejected, it suffices to act by a pusher 25 on the lever 20 so
EMI4.1
to pivot the lever 12 against the spring 13.
When the lever 12 is pivoted anti-clockwise, the distance between the fixed legs 5, 7 and the movable leg 15 increases so as to gradually release the disc 10 (FIG. 3).
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
The tab 17 of the lever 12 then coming into contact with the periphery of the disc 10 pushes the latter progressively outward.
The amplitude of this movement and the relative positions of the legs 5,7, 15 and 17 are such that at all times, the disc, by its periphery, is guided in the grooves of said legs so as to remain at all times the distance from the walls 1.
At the end of the pivoting movement of the lever 12, the disc can then be either removed by the user, or be supported by a mechanism bringing it into a record player to read or record information on its surface (figure 1).
In individual housings, the lever 20 is the single control member.
In the case of stores comprising several housings, it can be provided that the levers 12, in addition to being individually manipulated to take out or insert a disc, are all actuated by a single control so as to release all the discs at the same time or allow easy loading of discs in a magazine.
In Figure 5, there is shown such a device. This comprises an axis 50 supported by lugs 52 fixed to the chassis of the store. On this axis are positioned arms 54, the ends of which cooperate with the lugs 17 of the various housings.
Thanks to a flat part of the axis 50, these arms are all integral in rotation and one of them is subjected to the action of a spring 56, the other end of which is connected to the chassis 11. A lever 58 also fixed on the axis 50 serves as a general control for the arms 54.
In fact, when it is actuated (FIG. 5), the lever 12 of each housing undergoes a rotation which
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
ensures the unlocking of the disc (position in Figure 3) and therefore discs 1 can be either removed or inserted into the magazine housings.
Rather than providing a command 20, it is possible to size the position of the legs and the pivot point of the lever so that by exerting a vertical thrust on the periphery of the disc, said lever pivots against its elastic means so as to to automatically release the disc.
In Figure 6, there is shown two housing of a store, possibly containing more, which have the distinction of being arranged perpendicular to an arc. In this case, the lever 12 is parallel to one of the walls 1 of the housing and therefore the disc is held stationary parallel to said wall.
Of course, in the case of stores comprising juxtaposed housings, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 6, the second wall of any housing is in fact the external surface of the wall of the juxtaposed housing.
