"Device for the capture and extermination of insects" "Device for the capture and extermination of insects"
The present invention relates to a portable device allowing the capture and extermination of insects, such as wasps, flies, mosquitoes, ants, spiders, etc ...
We already know various systems to try
to get rid of insects. These systems are essentially of four types, namely:
- static systems, such as glue catchers or fly traps using a sweet liquid, electrical devices killing insects under the action of heat, etc ... which have the disadvantage of being effective only when the insect is close enough.
- chemical systems, in particular insecticides, which have the drawback of subjecting the harmful effects of said insecticides not only to insects but to the entire environment.
- systems emitting certain sounds, which have, on the one hand, the disadvantage of being extremely specialized, for example against mosquitoes and, on the other hand, of being badly tolerated in particular by dogs.
- manual systems, consisting of crushing insects, which have the disadvantage of claiming a great address and leaving traces at the place where the insect was crushed.
The object of the invention is to provide a device for the capture and extermination of insects
which is not inspired by any of the known systems and which makes it possible to remedy the drawbacks presented by these.
To this end, according to the invention, said device comprises, arranged in a housing provided with a handle, suction means, a closed receptacle, disposed upstream of the suction means and permeable
to the sucked air, and a tube, one end of which opens into the receptacle and the part of which protrudes relative to the housing is of adjustable length, means being provided for closing the end of the tube opening into the receptacle when the suction means are inactive, as well as means for immobilizing and / or killing insects, spiders, etc ... collected in this receptacle.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the aforementioned suction means are constituted
by a fan, a drive motor of said fan and a source of current for supplying the motor, this source being preferably rechargeable.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the aforesaid receptacle is removable and consists of a bag arranged in a housing provided
in the housing, the latter being arranged so that the opening of the bag cooperates with the aforementioned end of the tubing associated with the receptacle.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the above-mentioned tubing is fixed to the housing and consists of telescopic elements made of a rigid material, the tubing element having the largest diameter being fixed to the housing.
Other details and particularities of the invention will emerge from the description of the drawings appended to this specification and which represent, by way of non-limiting examples, particular embodiments of the device according to the invention.

In the different figures, the same reference notations designate identical or analogous elements.
The device according to the invention and illustrated in the drawings is portable and comprises, arranged
in a housing 1 provided with a handle 2 and a switch 3, suction means 4, a closed receptacle
5 disposed upstream of the means 4 and which is permeable
to the air sucked in by the latter, a tube 6 whose end 7 opens into the receptacle 5 and of which
the part 8 projecting from the housing 1 is of adjustable length, means 9 for closing the end 7 of the tube when the suction means 4 are inactive and means 10 for immobilizing and / or killing insects, spiders , etc ... collected in the receptacle 5.
The suction means 4 comprise, as shown in FIG. 1, a fan 11, a motor 12 for driving the latter and a power source
13 of said motor, which advantageously consists of a rechargeable battery.
In the embodiment illustrated in Figure 1, the receptacle 5 is removable and consists of a bag 14 disposed in a housing 15 provided in the housing 1, the latter being arranged so that the bag 14 is immobilized with its opening which hermetically surrounds the above-mentioned end 7 of the tubing.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 8, the receptacle 5 is constituted by a cavity
16 presented by the housing 1 upstream of the suction means 4, a filter 17 being arranged on said housing between this cavity 16 and these suction means 4.
The tubing 6 is fixed to the housing 1 and is advantageously made up of telescopic elements 18 made of rigid material, this tubing being fixed to the housing either by its element 18 having the largest diameter, or by its element 18 having the most small diameter.
As shown in Figures 3 to 6, the tubing 6 advantageously has, on the one hand, at least one venturi located near its end 19 and, on the other hand, a divergent nozzle 20 provided at said end 19. This nozzle could be constituted, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, by a transparent cup mounted elastically on the tubing by an elastic seal 21.
The means 9 provided for closing off the end
7 of the tubing, to prevent insects from escaping from the receptacle 5 by the tubing 6 when the suction means 4 are inactive, can be constituted, as shown in FIG. 7, by a hinged valve 22
at 23 on the tubing. This valve 22 is arranged to be able to bear on the entire periphery of the opening of the tube and a return spring 24, the ends of which are fixed respectively to the tube and to the valve, being provided to tend to apply the valve on said around the tubing, the force of this spring
24 being chosen so that it can be overcome, to allow the automatic opening of the valve 22, by the vacuum prevailing in the housing 1 when the suction means 4 are put into action.
The aforementioned means 10 provided for immobilizing the insects collected in the receptacle 5 can be constituted, when a bag 14 is used, by a sticky material partially covering the internal walls of said bag.
To kill the insects collected in the receptacle, you can use an insecticide plate
24 fixed in the bag 14 or in the cavity 16 constituting the receptacle 5.
To avoid the use of chemicals, insects can also be killed by mechanical means constituted for example, as shown in FIG. 8, by a rotary element 25 mounted, in the cavity
16 constituting the receptacle 5, on the axis of the fan
11 upstream of the filter 17.
It should be understood that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described
and that many modifications can be made to these without departing from the scope of this patent.
