Abstract
The repositioning and immobilisation appts. is for acromio-clavicular luxation. A shell of plastics nitrate is placed round the elbow. A horizontal belt holds the elbow against the body, while a second belt has a collarbone cushion. A third belt is at right angles to the second with a larger cushion for the arm pit of the other arm, this cushion being adjustable. A wrist sleeve is also included.

UITVINDINGSOCTROOI UITVINDINGSOCTROOI Aanvrager : PVBA, Grotestraat 46, 3600 Genk.
-twee onderling loodrecht verbonden riemen.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

INVENTION PATENT INVENTION PATENT Applicant: PVBA, Grotestraat 46, 3600 Genk. "Reposition and Acromio-clavicular Description u The device for the right shoulder is different from that for the left shoulder.
It consists of a plastazote shell that is placed around the elbow, with: - a horizontal strap to hold the elbow against the body.
- two mutually perpendicularly connected belts. One strap carries a collarbone pad and the other a larger, adjustable pad for the armpit of the other arm.
- a cuff for the wrist.
Application - The shell is placed around the elbow, then the vertical collar strap for the clavicle is attached: the two elements are joined at the front and back with a buckle and with a Velcro.
- The horizontal strap, which is attached to the shell, is placed around the chest. With this belt the arm can be kept in adduction.
- The belt with cushion is supported in the armpit of the other arm and is fastened and tightened around the thorax. In this way, the clavicle support can be positioned correctly.
- The cuff is attached around the wrist. This cuff is connected to the horizontal strap of the shell d. with a belt provided for this purpose. This is adjustable so that the elbow can be ingenious in partial extension.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Notes - The tension on the strap connecting the elbow to the clavicular support is determined when the elbow is bent and resting on the table.
The luxation is repositioned by giving a light pressure on the slel! counting cushion. This tension must be increased during the second week.
- A slight elbow extension makes it easier to maintain the position of the luxation.
- When the patient is seated, he leans more on the shell to relieve pressure on the clavicle.
When it rests on the shell in this way, the collarbone cushion can be released once or twice a day for a few minutes to massage the pressed areas + e. An indication on the strap indicates the original position.
- After applying the tape, an X-ray is taken to check its effectiveness,
Weekly radio-clinical monitoring is desirable for four to five weeks, depending on the severity of the luxation.
Indications Acromio-clavicular manufacturing, stageItotIII.
Results - For the stages l and li, final stabilization occurs after five weeks.
- For stage H! luxation may occur again, but ecrnio-clavicular diastasis is significantly reduced.
