"Windenergieproduktie regulerende waterrem
<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=2.1>
vleugel hiervan voorkomt. De draaizin wordt door pijl
(24) aangeduid.
Elke rotor
<EMI ID=3.1>
In
<EMI ID=4.1>
- het vormt een deel van het pomphuis; - is de drager van stator (15);
2[deg.])
a. de afstand tussen stator en rotor die bi j voorkeur 12 mm moet bedragen;
b. de derdemacht van de draaisnelheid van de rotor;
"Wind energy production regulating water brake
with adjustable energy consumption, powered
by wind turbine with rotating surface
arcs blades that concentrate wind by centrifugal air ejection "The purpose of this improvement patent application is to characterize the main patent 893.545, on
June 17, 1982 submitted by applicant, better to highlight.
The object of the invention is indeed a device for the production of thermal energy and for simultaneously regulating the speed of a windmill or wind turbine. More specifically, the object of the invention is to prescribe a device whose structural elements are easy to construct, are extremely reliable and, in addition to a high thermal efficiency due to the Joule effect, also create the possibility of an auto-regulating effect on the speed of the windmill or wind turbine. to exercise.
An important object of the invention is therefore to use the available energy for purposes other than heat production (sawing, grinding, generating electricity, etc.).
In order to achieve this according to the invention, the device according to the invention comprises a
water brake or hydraulic brake mounted on the pivot axis of a wind turbine or windmill, consisting of a cylindrical body, at least one rotor mounted on the above-mentioned pivot axis and one stator mounted around the pivot axis on said pivot, a quantity of liquid in said cylindrical body which is substantially at the level from the rotor, a pump on the rotary shaft which is immersed in the intended liquid is cool, an adjustable inlet from a fluid reservoir, of this fluid, to the cylindrical body and an adjustable outlet of this fluid to the same reservoir,
all this in such a way that the said rotor and stator are located between the above-mentioned inlet and outlet and finally two branches on the said cylindrical body in order to convey the heated liquid to at least one heat exchanger and to return the cooled liquid to the cylindrical body.
According to a possible embodiment, the above-mentioned rotor occurs above the above-mentioned stator.
According to another embodiment, said rotor occurs under said stator.
A detail of the invention consists in that under the most downwardly occurring element
(rotor or stator) prevents a plate that allows a passage for the circulating liquid along its circumference, while on the above-mentioned rotary shaft a pump is mounted which circulates the liquid through the above-mentioned rotor and stator as well as along the circumference of the above-mentioned plate.
According to a possible embodiment, a second rotor, a second stator and a second rotor act on the above-mentioned rotary axis
Other details and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description of an apparatus for producing thermal energy and for controlling the speed of a windmill or wind turbine according to the invention. This description is given by way of example only and does not limit the invention. The reference numbers refer to the figure added hereto.
The figure is a schematic longitudinal section of the device according to the invention.
The device includes a fluid reservoir (1) and a vertical axis of rotation mounted therein
(2).
The cylindrical body contains an amount of liquid that is supplied from a reservoir (3), an inlet (4) for this liquid and a
<EMI ID = 1.1>
gel valve (7) on the outlet (5). As shown in the figure, the liquid level in the cylindrical body (1) is slightly below the outlet (5) connecting the cylindrical body (1) and the reservoir (3).
At the top of the cylindrical body (1), a return line (8) is provided for returning the liquid to the reservoir (3). A venting channel (9) has branched off on this return line (8).
On the wall of the cylindrical body
(1), two branches (10) and (11) are provided with regulating valves (12) and 12. (13). The branch (10) feeds the heated liquid to at least one heat exchanger, while the branch (11) forms the return pipe for the cooled liquid from a heat storage or steam production unit (not shown).
Only the branch (10) is arranged tangentially to this cylindrical body in order to make maximum use of the pump effect with the direction of rotation of the rotor and pump. For the same reason, the same branch (10) is set at the level of the rotor (16).
A pump (14) is mounted on the rotary shaft (2), which, when the rotary shaft (2) is rotated, drives the liquid through a stator (15) and a rotor (16). The stator (15) carries a ball or roller bearing in the center
(17) for the pivot (2). The detector (15) rests on the plate (18) which forms the top part of the pump housing (14). Along the periphery, the plate (18) has a series of openings (18 ') that allow passage of the liquid in the direction of the stator
(15).
Both the stator and the rotor can advantageously consist of radially arranged angle irons. In the rotor and stator, the angle irons are placed in such a way that, when considering the sense of rotation of the axis of rotation (2),
<EMI ID = 2.1>
wing thereof. The sense of rotation is indicated by arrow
(24) indicated.
A second stator (19), a rotor (20) and a plate (21) are present in the device according to the figure.
These elements occur in the top half of the cylindrical body (1). Every rotor
<EMI ID = 3.1>
A rotor preferably consists of 8 radially adjusted L-profiles, while the stator is formed by preferably 6 radially adjusted L-profiles. In
<EMI ID = 4.1>
element with its vertical wing pointing downwards, so the vertical wing of the bottom element is pointing upwards. The top rotor (20) preferably has larger dimensions than the bottom rotor (16).
In the embodiment according to the figure, the plate (18) has a triple function:
- it forms part of the pump housing; - is the carrier of stator (15);
- is also the carrier of a ball or roller bearing (17).
The plate (21) rotates with the rotor (20) and forms a whole with it.
Finally, reference (22) refers to a purge valve of reservoir (3).
The fluid heated by friction (Jouleeffekt) may be water or oil or any suitable liquid mixture for this purpose.
Various possible operating positions are set out below mainly in function of opening and closing valves (6) and (7). These possible positions are the following:
1 [deg.]) Tap (6) is closed. The wind turbine rotates freely in this position. The wind turbine can, for example, only produce electricity if the rotary shaft is equipped with the necessary equipment. Heating by the joule effect of the liquid present in the cylindrical body (1) does not take place.
2 [deg.]) Tap (6) is open and tap (7) remains closed.
The windmill is slowed down. The Joule effect in the liquid is maximum for a given speed of the wind turbine. In this position of the taps (6) and (7), preferably the taps (12) and (13) are open, through which the liquid heated in the cylindrical body (1) is discharged to a heat exchanger or a steam production unit. The cooled liquid returns through the return pipe (11) and tap (13) to the cylindrical body
(1) from the device back.
3 [deg.]) Taps (6) and (7) are in a position that can be regarded as an intermediate position. A predetermined speed of the wind turbine depends on the position of both cranes (6) and (7). For example, due to the aforementioned joule effect, the device can produce little heat, while the rotary axis can be used for other purposes.
4 [deg.]) Taps (6) and (7) are closed while taps (12) and (13) remain open. Thanks to a pre-selected liquid level in the cylindrical body (1), the wind turbine also remains on
run a predetermined regime.
5 [deg.]) The degree of opening of the taps is determined by any regime of the establishment
(12) and (13) the ability to drive or reduce the temperatures through joule effect in the device. As mentioned above, the branches (10) and
(11) communicate with either a reservoir for storing hot liquid, one or more heat exchangers for transferring heat.
These different parts can
be structured in different embodiments and in function of the needs.
It can be deduced from the above-described operating positions of the various valves that the pump does not draw liquid from the reservoir (3) when it is at a standstill. Due to the low liquid level in the cylindrical body (1), the device has a low efficiency or no efficiency at all. The wind turbine hereby starts easily since the liquid present will not exert an inhibiting effect. At higher wind speed, the pump (14) draws in more liquid, which liquid rises in the cylindrical body (1). The rise of the liquid level in the cylindrical body (1) is controlled by acting on the taps
(6) and (7).
At too high wind speeds, the liquid rises above the second set formed by the stator
(19), rotor (20) and plate (21) what an increase
of the energy consumption of the wind turbine. An overload of the wind turbine results from this. The wind turbine therefore slows down due to deceleration. The water brake formed by the device slows down while the level of the liquid under the rotor (20) drops, which makes the wind turbine start up again faster. It is thus clear that by the correct selection of the cranes (6) and (7) for a given wind speed, a predetermined energy decrease can be chosen while the wind turbine itself undergoes a self-regulating action.
In connection with the self-regulating effect of the device according to the invention, the following should also be noted.
1. The lower rotor (16) and stator
(15) must be dimensioned such that at any wind speed, together with the pump, they do not absorb more than + 95% of the energy supplied by the wind turbine.
2. The through the rotor (19) and stator
(20) developed deceleration slows the speed of rotation of the wind turbine in such a way that its aerodynamic efficiency is greatly affected.
Finally, it should be noted that the efficiency of the device or water brake is among other things the function of:
a. the distance between stator and rotor, which should preferably be 12 mm;
b. the third power of the rotational speed of the rotor;
c. the fifth power of the diameter of this rotor.
It is clear that the invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment and that many changes could be made to it without departing from the scope of the patent application. For example, between the branches (10) and
(11) a water reservoir with a very large volume is switched on which can absorb the heat production in the cylindrical body (1) in all circumstances without danger of steam production. A thermostatic control can be provided on this reservoir or on the branch (10) which can act on the position of the valves (6) and (7) as well as on the braking or winding down of the wind turbine.
Finally, it should be noted that when, contrary to what the figure represents, the rotor (16) appears below the stator (15), the plate (18) becomes a carrier of rotor (16) and pump (14).
The plate (18) is then a moving (rotating) part of the pump housing.
