Abstract
The covering for the floor of a sports hall comprises independent blocks made of wood supported by a layer of resilient material. When a force is experienced by a block, the resilient material gives slightly, creating a cushion effect which can be varied according to the choice of materials used for the resilient layer and blocks. A tear-proof web is installed between the blocks and the resilient layer, to spread the load experienced by each individual block, preventing large dislocations between adjacent blocks.
