Abstract

The mechanism is intended for packing bottles or the like. It comprises three sections. A magazine containing flat blanks of cardboard or similar material which, in the first section, are gripped by suction cups and drawn through a former to produce trays with upwardly extending sides, which may be fixed together by adhesive. These trays are moved to the second section via a chute or belt in which the bottles, arriving on a conveyor belt are placed in the trays in one or more rows. A further belt moves the filled trays through the third section in which they are wrapped in shrinkable foil (from rolls) and the foil is cut and heat-sealed after which each tray passes through an oven to shrink the foil.
