Abstract

The longbow comprises a bowstring and a tensioning cable which runs over rollers at the two ends of the bow. The hand hold is a light alloy casting whilst the remainder of the body is formed from laminates consisting of wood, epoxy and polyester resin, and glass fibre. The rollers are in light alloy and the cable in steel whilst the bowstring is in synthetic material such as Kevlar (RTM). Pref. dimensions are given. (FL).
