<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=2.1>
<EMI ID=3.1>

<EMI ID=9.1>
<EMI ID=10.1>
kleine emissiviteit.
<EMI ID=11.1>
<EMI ID=12.1>
<EMI ID=13.1>
<EMI ID=14.1>
<EMI ID=15.1>
<EMI ID=16.1>
<EMI ID=17.1>
<EMI ID=18.1>
<EMI ID=19.1>

The invention relates to a solar collector consisting of an absorbing plate with at least one flow-through channel, which is provided with an inlet and an outlet for
<EMI ID = 1.1>
and in which the absorbing plate is mounted.
An object of the invention is to provide a flat plate type solar collector that operates on both sides. So that such a collector for the thermal conversion of solar energy would have a high efficiency, even with operating
<EMI ID = 2.1>
one, the losses that occur on the second side must be greatly overcompensated by the energy gained on this side. The invention provides a collector with such high efficiency.
An object of the invention is to provide a solar collector of the intended type which can be vertically arranged and which is subject to double-sided action
can be used with a 50 to 80% higher exposure, compared to a single-sided collector, both in diffuse light and direct illumination.
<EMI ID = 3.1>
such a solar collector whose amount of collected light can be increased, in vertical arrangement, by use in combination with white reflectors and / or with mirror reflectors.
For this purpose, the absorbing plate is coated on both sides with a selectively absorbent layer, the housing on both sides is at least locally translucent
<EMI ID = 4.1> <EMI ID = 5.1>
filled below atmospheric pressure.
Preferably, the housing includes a frame, two translucent superposed mounted thereon
plates that together with the frame define a hermetically closed space and spacers that keep the two translucent plates at a distance from each other, while the absorbing plate is provided with openings for these spacers situated completely next to its flow channel, through which openings the spacers extend without any contact with the absorber plate.
Other details and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description
of a solar collector according to the invention; this description is given by way of example only and does not limit the invention; the reference numbers refer to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 is a side view of a solar collector <EMI ID = 6.1> Figure 2 represents a section according to the line II-II of Figure 1. Figure 3 is a front view of the solar collector from the previous figures, but on a smaller scale and with partial cut-outs signed. Figure 4 represents a section along line IV-IV of Figure 3, drawn to a larger scale. Figure 5 represents a section along the line V-V of Figure 3, drawn on the same scale as Figure 4.
In the different figures, like reference numerals refer to like elements.

an absorbing plate 1 and a housing 2 therefor.
The housing 2 is mainly formed by a rectangular frame 3 and two plates 4 of tempered glass. The <EMI ID = 8.1>
by means of silicone rubber.
This housing 2 is arranged vertically with its longitudinal direction horizontally above a bottom, for example a roof. This bottom and this roof are preferably covered with reflective material and, next to the solar collector, reflectors can be arranged on this bottom so that the solar collector would receive as much sunlight as possible. The housing 2 is provided on the outside of the two upper corners of its frame 3 with two welded brackets 6. These brackets 6 serve for gripping the collector during its displacement, for connecting the electrodes during an electrochemical treatment of the frame 3 mounted abaorbeerplaat
1 during the manufacture of the collector and for fixing the collector, for example to a vertical wall.
On the inside of the frame 3, supports 7 are welded in several places for the absorbing plate 1. These supports 7 are angle irons, the angle of which is perpendicular to
<EMI ID = 9.1>
the angle irons 7 are welded to the inside of the frame 3; so their angle is turned inward. This angle
is crossed by a slot 8 into which an edge of the absorbing plate 1 fits.
In the bottom horizontal profile list of the
In frame 3, two more openings 9 and 10 are provided for an inlet 11 and an outlet 12 of the absorbing plate, respectively
1.
This absorbing plate is a flat radiator plate of mild steel or copper, which is covered on both sides with a
<EMI ID = 10.1>
small emissivity. The absorbing plate is formed by two
rectangular plates 13 which are welded together with their edges 14 all over the circumference. Transverse indentations 15 are provided between the longitudinal edges 14 in the plates 13, at the location of which the plates 13 also
<EMI ID = 11.1>
1 at the top an input space 16 and at the bottom
a discharge space 17 is formed, which spaces 16 and 17 are met
communicate with each other through channels 18 formed between the indentations 15. With the welded edges 14, the absorbing plate 1 protrudes into the supports 7. With thermal expansion and contraction, the plate 1 can go with its edges
and slide it into the supports 7. The inlet 11 mouths
leads to the inlet space 16 and passes in the housing 2
the absorbing plate 1 upwards from the opening 9. Ter
at the location of the opening 9 is the inlet 11 of a connecting piece
19 provided for a pipeline of a solar energy installation.
The outlet 12 extends between the discharge space 17 and the opening 10 and is also provided at the location of opening 10 with a connecting piece 19 for connecting the outlet 12 to the pipe of a solar energy installation. The connectors
19 are welded to the frame 3 so that they ensure the hermetic sealing of the openings 9 and 10. They are used as electrical contact in the aforementioned electrochemical treatment of the absorbing plate 1.
The selectively absorbent layer with which the absorbent plate 1 is coated depends on the metal from which the
<EMI ID = 12.1>
absorption coefficient higher than 0.9 and emissivity lower than 0.1. This layer should be heat resistant to temperatures of about 300 [deg.] C. If the plates 13 of
steel is a suitable absorbent coating formed by a chromium oxide layer on matte nickel or by a zinc chromate oxide layer on zinc. If the plates 13 of copper
A suitable absorbent layer is a layer of chromium oxide.
The space between the absorbing plate 1 and the housing
2 is a completely hermetically closed space. This space is filled with a gas with a heat conduction coefficient of at most 0.015 W / m [deg.] C at a pressure that is noticeably lower than atmospheric. For example, the pressure of the gas is between 10
and 100 millibars and is preferably approximately equal to 20 millibars. Suitable gases are: krypton, xenon, hydrocarbon compounds
<EMI ID = 13.1>
Freon and CC14.
In order to avoid deformation and even breaking of the glass plates 4 due to the underpressure prevailing in the housing 2, these plates 4 are kept apart from each other within the frame 3 by means of spacers 20.
These spacers 20 are formed by a central body that is narrowly widened and by two
<EMI ID = 14.1>
connect the base to the inner sides of the glass plates 4. The spacers 20 protrude through openings with their bodies
21 in the absorbing plate 1. These openings 21 are located at the location of an indentation 15, which indentation at the location of an opening 21 is slightly widened. The openings 21 therefore do not face the inside, this is on the channels
18 of the absorbing plate 1. The openings 21 and thus also the spacers 20 are arranged according to a square grid. The number of openings 21 and the diameter of the base of the base of the spacers 20 depend on the thickness of the glass plates 4. The conical feet of the spacers 20 are made of transparent heat-resistant polymethyl metacrylate or polycarbonate or of glass. Its central body is made of steel.
The spacers 20 are held in place by the glass plates 4 themselves which are pushed together by the higher pressure on the outside of the housing 2.
The openings 21 have a diameter that is larger
than the cross-section of the protruding part of the spacers 20, such that the spacers
20 do not have any contact with the absorbing plate 1 and the absorbing plate 1 can also expand freely under the influence of the temperature changes. This expansion can be quite large, since the temperature of the absorber plate 1 can reach about 300 [deg.] C at maximum solar radiation and without cooling of
the plate. Because the absorbing plate 1 with its edges with
<EMI ID = 15.1>
thus, with respect to the supports 7 being slightly slidable, these supports 7 also do not prevent this expansion.
The solar collector is suitable for the usual
<EMI ID = 16.1>
a distribution device connecting to inlet 11 may be mounted. Because the solar collector is installed vertically and
<EMI ID = 17.1>
low, it receives a relatively large amount of solar energy in both direct radiation and diffuse light. This amount
<EMI ID = 18.1>
place the reflective bottom or point the reflectors at the solar collector.
Because the space between the absorbing plate 1 and
the housing 2 is filled with gas with low thermal conductivity and under low pressure and because the absorbing plate 1 has virtually no contact with the housing 2, the heat transfer between the absorbing plate 1 and the housing is extremely small, so that the efficiency of the solar collector is also high at high operating temperatures. When using a mild steel absorber plate that is nickel-plated and is provided with a layer of chromium oxide and has an absorption coefficient of 0.94 and an emissivity of 0.1 and at a space between the absorber plate 1 and CHC13 filled with 20 millibars the housing 2, the heat transfer coefficient between the absorber plate 1 and the outside air only 0.9 watts per m2
<EMI ID = 19.1>
It goes without saying that the solar collector can also be used single-sided, for example on sloping roofs.In such a case, the heat losses can be reduced by aluminum foil and / or a glass plate 4 opposite the unused sides of the absorber plate 1 and glass wool mat.
The invention is by no means limited to the above-described embodiment and within the scope of the patent application, the described embodiment can be subject to many changes.
