<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=2.1>
: Rigid coupling for positive displacement pump
The present invention relates to a rigid coupling intended to make axially and radially integral and to block in rotation, in a volumetric pump with helical rotor, at least one of the ends of a flexible connecting rod to a motor shaft or. to a rotor.
The above coupling can in particular be used to connect to a drive shaft, a flexible connecting rod disposed out of alignment with the axis of rotation of the above shaft. It is made up of at least three organs.
<EMI ID = 1.1>
an elastic coupling intended to join two sections of shafts situated in the extension of one another, composed of a sleeve which is provided internally with longitudinal ribs and the bottom of which forms a plate on which a projection d '' a male element fixed on the end of the other tree.
The arrangement of this known coupling makes mechanical production relatively complicated,
- in particular makes assembly and disassembly very difficult. This coupling is made up of a large number of parts which must all be machined with precision, in order to be able to match them.
We know, by French patent n [deg.] 1,346,417, a positive displacement pump with screw or propeller composed of two helical gear elements, internal to each other, the external element having a thread or helical tooth more than the internal element. In pumps of this type, the axis of the internal element or rotor is not in alignment with the motor shaft.
In this known screw or propeller positive displacement pump, the rotor is connected to the motor shaft
using an elastic bending rod, rigidly fixed by welding or by open ends to the rotor and / or to the motor shaft.
A drawback of this known type of coupling is the significant difficulty of dismantling the assembly.
The object of the present invention is to remedy the drawbacks described above. It relates to a rigid coupling intended to make axially and radially integral and to block in rotation, in a volumetric pump with helical rotor, at least one of the ends of a flexible connecting rod to a motor shaft or to a rotor and composed of three organs, essentially characterized in that the first of these comprises one of the ends of the flexible conical or frustoconical rod, provided
at its base of an external thread with fine pitch, the second member is a conical or frustoconical cavity arranged in one end of the rotor or of the motor shaft, along the longitudinal axis and provided with a cylindrical flange bearing externally a thread, the pitch of which is appreciably larger than the aforementioned first fine pitch and the third member consists of a double-bore connecting piece whose internal walls have corresponding grooves
at the steps of the above nets.
According to a feature of the invention, the conical or frustoconical end of the flexible connecting rod and the conical or frustoconical cavity arranged in one end of the rotor or of the motor shaft, have complementary shapes allowing them to fit perfectly one inside the other.
In a particular embodiment, the flexible connecting rod is shouldered in the vicinity of the fine thread which is provided with one or each of its conical or frustoconical ends.
The rotor or the drive shaft may advantageously have in the vicinity of the aforementioned collar a groove separating this collar from the body of the rotor or from the drive shaft.
According to another particular feature of the invention, the double-bore connecting piece has in each of them grooves of the same direction but of no different.
The threads presented by at least one of the ends of the flexible connecting rod and the flange of the. rotor or motor shaft, preferably have a similar number of turns.
Other details and particularities of the invention will emerge from the following detailed description as well as from the appended drawings, which illustrate by way of non-limiting illustration an embodiment of the present invention.
In these drawings:
FIG. 1 is a vertical section of the flexible coupling rod of a positive displacement screw pump, and
- Figure 2 is a partial section of a coupling according to the invention.
In these two figures, the same notations
of reference designate identical or analogous elements.
As shown in FIG. 1, the volumetric pump with a helical rotor comprises a suction or discharge body 1 disposed against an external stator 2 generally made of synthetic rubber, for example of Hypalon, in which a rotor 3 meshes.
The internal surface of the stator 2 has a thread or helical tooth more than the external surface of the rotor, as well known per se. As the stator 2 is generally made of elastic polymer material, the rotor 3 does not rotate around a fixed axis, but rather eccentrically
relative to the longitudinal axis XX 'of the stator, everything. staying parallel to itself.
The rotor 3 is connected to a motor shaft 4
using a flexible connecting rod 5 which allows this type of coupling to be carried out without great problem.
The motor shaft 4 is mounted on a bearing (not shown) isolated from the suction or discharge body 1 of the pump using a tamping boot 6
and a cable gland 7 positioned using a mule square 8.
The motor shaft 4 carries a tear ring 9 intended to prevent the flow of a pumped liquid along the aforesaid shaft towards a motor not shown and has a hydraulic seal at the level of the stuffing.
A Grower 10 washer clamped by a stud
11 the seal 12 of the jacket 13 of the suction or discharge body 1 against the frame 14 of the bearing.
The stator is held against the seal 12 of the suction or discharge body of the jacket by means of tie rods 15 and blind nuts 16 acting on the flange 17.
The coupling according to the present invention is provided between the motor shaft 4 rotating around a
<EMI ID = 2.1>
includes the following three bodies:
The first of these comprises one of the ends of the flexible connecting rod 5 of conical or frustoconical shape 18 generally obtained by milling. The: aforesaid shape narrows towards the end. The base of the cone or trunk of cone 18 above mentioned is provided in its vicinity with an external thread 19
at no end.
To avoid any initiation of rupture that could cause the above-mentioned thread 19, the flexible connecting rod 5 is provided with a shoulder or fillet 20 intended to distribute the stresses in the vicinity of the end of the thread 19.
The second organ is an axial cavity
of conical or frustoconical shape 21 of shape complementary to that of the end of the flexible connecting rod 5, hollowed out at one end of a motor shaft 4, so as to allow the first abovementioned member to fit perfectly into the cavity 21 above.
This cavity 21 is provided with a cylindrical collar 22 carrying externally a thread 23 whose pitch is substantially larger than the fine pitch of the aforementioned thread 16.
The third member is a connecting piece
24 with double bore whose internal walls have grooves 25 and 26 corresponding to the steps
the above nets.
The connecting piece 24 is optionally provided with an annular seal 27 intended to protect the seals and threads 16, 23 from the coupling members from the intrusion of corrosive substances.
or abrasive. Another method is to seal
at the level of the threads thanks to a Teflon type sealing paste.
This connecting piece 24 exterior door-
<EMI ID = 3.1> grip with a key not shown in order to tighten it during assembly or on the contrary to dismantle it.
In order to be able to check the position of
the connecting piece 24 during assembly, provision has been made
a groove 29 separating the collar 22 from the body of the
rotor 3 or motor shaft 4.
As the abovementioned connecting piece 24 has grooves of different pitches in each of the bores, it ensures a tightening of the cones or trunks of cones 18, 21 of the first and second abovementioned members fitted one into the other, when tight this connecting piece 24 on the aforesaid collar 22.
The loosening of the aforesaid cones 18, 21 made easy is easily obtained by loosening the aforementioned connecting piece. The aforementioned cones 18, 21 even detach from each other without it being necessary to unlock one of the parts with respect to the other using any tool.
The coupling or couplings according to the invention are easy to access. After isolating the pump by closing the inlet and outlet valve for the pumped liquid and after draining the pump by removing the cap 30, it suffices to remove the cap nuts 16 and the tie rods 15 to remove the rotor 3 from the stator 2.
Then loosening the nuts 16,
the jacket 13 can be removed from the suction body and
pump discharge. There is thus access to the above coupling members.
By its arrangement and its shape, the above coupling is not subject to wear in the middle of liquid. to pump above, which can even be abrasive or corrosive.
Depending on the alloy used, it can be and it is possible to use a protective covering, for example made of poly (vinylidene chloride) or PVDF on the flexib connecting rod:
The reduced diametrical size of this type of coupling contributes to improving the volumetric efficiency of the pump.
The assembly is calculated in such a way that it responds to the various flexion, torsion and fatigue stresses.
