DESCRIPTION : Ce brevet couvre l'utilisation de grains de mica naturel
ou synthétique sous forme d'un enduit appliqué lors ou après la fabrication de panneaux agglomérés à base de bois, matières végétales, déchets de l'industrie textile ou de toute autre matière combustible, afin de retarder l'action du feu sur les panneaux.
Suivant les performances souhaitées, le mica broyé peut être éventuellement exfolié afin d'améliorer le coefficient de conductibilité thermique des panneaux.
La granulométrie et la quantité de mica incorpée dans l'enduit de surface dépend de la nature des matériaux de base des panneaux, de leur méthode de fabrication et des performances souhaitées pour la résistance au feu.
L'enduit de surface est constitué d'un mélange de mica broyé éventuellement exfolié, d'un liant résistant au feu, de colorant' et d'additifs facilitant la mise en oeuvre à l'aide de machines à projeter ou à la main.
L'addition de micro-fibres peut être envisagée afin d'améliorer la rigidité de surface.
Suivant la nature du liant résistant au feu, la mise en oeuvre de l'enduit se fait à l'aide d'eau ou de solvant.
La finition de surface de l'enduit peut être lisse ou rugueuse suivant les qualités acoustiques exigées.
Suivant les cas, les panneaux peuvent être traités sur une ou leur deux faces.
Afin d'améliorer l'efficacité du principe, on peut envisager de l'associer avec un traitement ignifuge par voie chimique des éléments de base des panneaux.
Dans le cas de plafonds suspendus ou de cloisons, on peut améliorer la résistance au feu globale par l'adjonction d'une couche isolante sur la face non-exposée au feu.

The surface finish of the plaster can be smooth or rough depending on the acoustic qualities required.
Depending on the case, the panels can be treated on one or both sides.
In order to improve the effectiveness of the principle, it is possible to envisage combining it with a flame-retardant treatment by chemical means of the basic elements of the panels.
In the case of suspended ceilings or partitions, the overall fire resistance can be improved by adding an insulating layer on the side not exposed to fire.
