<EMI ID=2.1>
Terwijl in
<EMI ID=4.1>
"Fabric to strengthen dikes, banks, sea or river bottom and other earthworks".
Earthworks, both under water and on land, regularly use materials that
in combination usually with brushwood, the bottom or bottom layers should help capture.
Materials that incorporate steel braiding are progressively replaced by artificial fabrics. This posed the problem of the attachment to such fabrics of the brushwood or of other reinforcing materials such as reinforcing irons.
It is clear that this attachment should preferably be done without piercing the tissue. In addition, additional provisions must be made to regularly distribute the tensile force of the fabric with respect to the brushwood or reinforcing bars, preferably in both the longitudinal and transverse directions. This is especially true when working underwater.
Among other things, it has already been proposed from the fabric
<EMI ID = 1.1>
distance from binding with the weft threads. By the bundle of wires thus forming in the longitudinal direction, which form loops, binding ropes are inserted with which bundles of brushwood, so-called 'Wiepen', can be connected to the fabric.
This solution has the drawback that the loops formed by the unbonded warp threads have a tensile strength which depends to a large extent on that of the warp threads themselves.
A further drawback is that with these wire bundles
<EMI ID = 2.1>
This means that the wheels can shift relative to the fabric, in particular at the place where the bundles of wires are created by non-bonding to the fabric.
This results in a less good and permanent connection
of the fabric with the hoops as long as they are not attached to each other according to a grid pattern.
The object of the invention is now to remedy these drawbacks and to realize a fabric of which the furrow
the bindings with loops referred to above, not only have a greater tensile strength per se, but also promote a better distribution of the tensile force on the fabric, so that the entire fabric is strengthened on its own.
To this end, the formation of loops under which can be passed through a twine for connecting this fabric to the brushwood, rebars or other reinforcing means, locally and at regular intervals, are woven a pair of ropes, each separately, in the warp direction, which ropes are not bound to the weft threads of the fabric over a distance.
Other details and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the attached description of a soil reinforcement fabric according to the invention; this description is given by way of example only and does not limit the invention. The reference numbers refer to the attached figures.
Figure 1 is a top view of a fabric according to the invention. Figure 2 is a top view of a fabric according to the invention, to which the hoops, or bundles of brushwood, are attached in one direction and through which reinforcing bars are inserted.
The fabric according to the invention can be obtained by any existing weaving technique. Beyond the required tensile strength, the fabric should be mainly water resistant and hold back the sand. To this end, the most diverse synthetic fabrics are used, consisting of monofilaments, twisted or untwisted tapes with <EMI ID = 3.1>
The fabrics can of course be resistant to rotting and also contain the necessary additives against UV rays.
Since the fabrics according to the invention are mainly intended to be equipped with various reinforcements, such as castors, reinforcing bars, straw or iron mats, the first problem arises of the attachment of these materials to the fabric.
As explained above, it should be preferred not to pierce the fabric and, moreover, to distribute the tensile force of the fabric as optimally as possible.
According to the invention, these purposes are met
achieved very efficiently by weaving ropes locally and at regular intervals in the warp direction and by not binding the ropes with the weft threads, each over a certain length. While in
in particular an excellent distribution of the tensile forces on the fabric is obtained by an additional reinforcement in the direction of the weft threads.
In the figures, the fabric is indicated by the general reference 1, while the ropes are, at least
in the embodiment according to the figures, loops must form, with reference 2 indicated.
The tensile strength of the ropes 2 is very high and can of course be higher or lower depending on the nature of the
the material that is eligible for the choice of the ropes themselves.
In order to optimally distribute the tensile force over the fabric and to prevent the breaking of weft threads at the location where the bond between the fabric and the ropes 2 ends, an additional reinforcement is provided in the weft direction. Where the ropes 2
in the longitudinal direction, loops 3 thus form, at the level of the intersections 4 with the weft threads, an extra reinforcement of the fabric itself, namely in the width direction as a result of the weaving in of reinforcement threads 5.
Flexible elements such as twine 6 can be inserted under the loop-shaped part 3 of the ropes 2, with which the bundles of brushwood 7 can be attached to the fabric 1.
By weaving in two or a group p
<EMI ID = 4.1>
excellent reinforcement of the fabric with in addition an additional reinforcement in the width direction as a result of the weaving in of the aforementioned reinforcement threads 5.
For example, a fabric whose tensile strength in the longitudinal direction is 230 kilos / 5cm can already be strengthened by tensing ropes in the same longitudinal direction to a tensile strength of 400 kilos, at the location of
the intended ropes.
This reinforcement, together with that resulting from the weaving in of reinforcing wires 5 in the width direction, considerably increases the strength of the whole.
When towing zinc pieces in which the fabric according to the invention was used as a base, the forces will be distributed just as much on the fabric as on the ropes 2 and 5.
The fabric according to the invention may also have local tunnels 8 through which reinforcing irons 9 can be inserted (fig. 2). The tunnels
8 can be applied in both the width and the length direction. They can continuously move all over
the width or length of the fabric or be realized only locally.
Obviously, the invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment and many changes can be made thereto, including as to the shape, arrangement and number of the elements that may be considered for its implementation.
