"Gedempte zaag"
Figuur 4 heeft betrekking op een gelijkaardige uitvoeringsvorm waarbij de tanden 8, tussen de inkepingen 9 in, volgens scherpe hoeken zijn uitgesneden;
"Damped saw"
The invention relates to a dampened saw with notches which are substantially transverse, relative to the saw blade. the displacement of
extend the saw blade into the workpiece.
In particular, the invention relates
on a circular saw although the invention in principle also applies to band saws. Vibrations, which are the cause
of sharp, sometimes insufferable sound, persist
or propagate due to the wavy movements of the saw blade. These movements are strongest for the frequencies that correspond to the resonant frequencies of the saw blade. With a circular saw that is clamped centrally, these movements are greatest towards the outer edge of the blade. The higher the resonance frequency, the more the vibrations increase towards the outer edge of the blade.
The level of these vibrations is in most circumstances a nuisance to both the operator of the saw and those working in the vicinity.
The object of the invention is to overcome these drawbacks and to prescribe a circular saw that exhibits surprising damping properties in that the vibrations and their propagation are greatly reduced.
To achieve this, according to the invention, at least some of these indentations are at least partially filled with a rubber-like substance adhering to the metal of the saw blade.
Other advantages and features of the invention will become apparent from the following description of a damped saw according to the invention.
This description is given by way of example only and does not limit the invention. The reference numbers relate to the attached figures.
Figure 1 is a side view of a circular saw according to the invention. Figures 2, 3 and 4 relate to different possible embodiments.
The circular saw 1 represented by figure 1 has a series of radial notches 2 which occur along the periphery of the saw blade and all or some of which are filled with a rubbery substance 3. Only a few notches 2 have been drawn in the drawing. Obviously, these indentations have to be imagined all over the circumference of the saw blade.
Outside the notches 2, further radial slots 4 can be provided, all or some of which are filled with the same rubber-like substance.
The rubbery substance with which the notches 2
and the slots 4 of the circular saw are filled in one of many natural or synthetic materials with which a permanent bond can be established with the metal of the saw blade. Obviously, the circumferential indentations can only be partially filled with the aforementioned rubbery substance.
Figure 2 shows a part of the circumference of a circular saw, all notches of which have been filled with a rubbery sound-damping material 3. These notches have a widened or circular recess 5 at their base, so that the substance that fills the notch remains even better contained in the saw blade.
Figure 3 shows a portion of the circumference of a circular saw in which between two notches 6
which are filled with a rubbery substance prevent a series of straight teeth 7.
Figure 4 relates to a similar embodiment in which the teeth 8, between the notches 9, are cut at sharp angles;
The invention is of course also applicable to a band saw or band saw where the notches and / or the slots naturally extend at right angles to the cutting direction.
Of course, the shape of the notches and slots can be significantly different from those shown by way of <EMI ID = 1.1>
ribbon continue to be absorbed and muted.
The term "rubbery substance" is to be understood in the broadest sense. Rubber-like materials, according to the principle of the invention are all elastic materials which exhibit sound-damping properties and which can be bonded to metal by the usual techniques.
