Description

  "SYTEME D'ENCEINTE ACOUSTIQUE

 <EMI ID=1.1>

( les différentes fréquences sont rayonnées à des hauteurs diverses);

 <EMI ID=2.1>

(fig. 2)

Dans une forme de réalisation de l'invention appliquée de préfé-rence, le système sera constitué de trois haut-parleurs semblables dont le volume de compression serait situé à un angle de l'enceinte acoustique, afin de favoriser encore le-rayonnement en tous plans.(fig. "3"). Un tweeter (haut-parleur aigu) pourrait être rajouté au système sans sortir du domaine de l'invention à condition que son axe passe par le point "S" et que son moteur (bobine mobile) soit à égale distance de "S" que ceux des autres Haut-parleurs;

(fig.

 <EMI ID=3.1>

(fig. 3b)

(fig.

  "ACOUSTIC SPEAKER SYSTEM

equipped with several loudspeakers the axes of which converge in a fictitious point source "

The invention, the description of which follows, aims to remedy a few defects inherent in the usual design of enclosures? multi-channel acoustic (bass-midrange / treble).

In particular, the invention presented is the result of a study aimed at improving the punctuality, the phasing and the radiation of a sound source comprising several loudspeakers.

The invention aims first of all to eliminate the phase distortions of a multi-channel acoustic enclosure. A single frequency or a fundamental and a Harmonic reproduced on several speakers together will only exceptionally be perceived in phase by a listener. Indeed, this perception varies according to the place of listening, the distances between the ear of the listener and the various speakers of the same enclosure being able to form the ideal constant ratio 1/1.

The invention also seeks to improve the lack of punctuality of multiple sound sources which is detrimental to good intelligibility.

 <EMI ID = 1.1>

(the different frequencies are radiated at different heights);

this last point is important in the case of stereophony or quadraphony.

In order to remedy the two preceding points, the study led to the search for original arrangements of loudspeakers such that the resultant of all the diffusers can be perceived as punctual and in phase. All these diffusers must in any case be acoustically charged by a volume closed at the rear ---

 <EMI ID = 2.1>

It is therefore a matter of creating a set of loudspeakers arranged in an acoustic enclosure in such a way that they form for the listener a single resulting loudspeaker, S, punctual.

This fictitious source would radiate all signals in phase.

To further clarify the invention, considering that no phase distortion is introduced by passive filters (possible self-capacitors), "S" will therefore be at an equal distance "f" from the moving coils "M" of the various loudspeakers and in the axis of these (fig. 1). In the event that a separation filter would cause a known phase rotation, the distance "f" could be corrected without this embodiment going beyond the scope of the present invention.

The originality of the invented system therefore consists in creating a compression point, "S" where the waves emitted by the :? various diffusers and radiate outside the system as a single source.

One of the means of the invention therefore consists in the design of an internal volume at the extension of the edges of the enclosure, considered as compression volume, comprising all the loudspeakers of the enclosure and including the point "S" , crossing of all the axes of the loudspeakers and located at an equal distance from the motors thereof.

Such a system, in accordance with the invention will be produced with at least two identical loudspeakers forming any angle and to which a third, different one could be added (for the treble).
(fig. 2)

In one embodiment of the invention applied preferably, the system will consist of three similar loudspeakers whose compression volume would be located at an angle to the acoustic enclosure, in order to further promote the radiation in all plans (fig. "3"). A tweeter (tweeter) could be added to the system without departing from the scope of the invention provided that its axis passes through point "S" and that its motor (voice coil) is equidistant from "S" that those of other speakers;

the angles of intersection of the axes at point "S" are not critical.
(fig. 5) The high HP is "T", the other 3 are Bass-Medium "WM".

This last realization allows the easy placement of the enclosure

ideally on the floor, even in corners, in corners

 <EMI ID = 3.1>

This makes it a recommendable system for any installation with several channels (stereophony or quadraphony). (fig. 3b)

The invention retains its specificity for the production of "Bass-reflex" acoustic enclosures using several diffusers. (fig. 4) In this case, a tuned vent will be used which will participate in the original operation of the system. For this purpose, the axis of the vent
(perpendicular to the orifice) will also pass through point "S" and tuned so as to work in phase in the greater part of the bass spectrum, except for the resonance frequency of the diffusers (diffuser is repeated throughout this description in its sense of speaker and will therefore be considered synonymous).
