La présente invention a pour objet un appareil de
direction pour engin mobile et en particulier pour une embarcation.
L'invention a pour but de procurer un appareil destiné à faciliter le pilotage d'engins pour lesquels une position fi- <EMI ID=1.1>
position de son engin par rapport à des obstacles-fixes ou mobiles.

destiné à faciliter le pilotage d'embarcationset notamment de bateaux à moteur quand ceux-ci déjaugent ou au moment d'un accostage.
A cet effet, suivant l'invention, cet appareil de direction comprend un organe de commande des moyens de direction de l'engin pouvant tourner' autour d'un axe pour modifier la direction de l'engin, un bras mobile supportant, à une de ses extrémités, cet organe de commande pour qu'il puisse tourner autour de l'axe susdit et dont l'autre extrémité est montée sur l'engin de manière à pivoter autour d'un axe situé dans un plan parallèle à l'axe longitudinal de l'engin, des moyens pour verrouiller le bras mobile en position choisie, des moyens reliant l'organe de commande aux moyens de direction de l'engin-et des moyens pour verrouiller, en fonction de la positon du bras mobile, l'organe de commande en position neutre par rapport aux moyens qui le relient aux moyens de direction de l'engin.
Suivant une forme de réalisation de l'invention, le bras mobile est.monté sur l'engin de manière à pouvoir pivoter

les opposées, les mouvements du bras s'effectuant au-dessus du plan horizontal passant par le bras lorsqu'il occupe une de ses positions horizontales.
Suivant un mode de réalisation avantageux de l'invention, l'axe de pivotement du bras mobile est'situé dans un plan vertical passant par l'axe ^longitudinal de l'engin.
Suivant une forme de réalisation particulièrement avantageuse de.l'invention, le bras mobile est monté sur une plaque de support fixée à l'engin, les moyens susdits permettant de verrouiller le bras en position'choisie comprenant un ergot monté sur
le bras et destiné à coopérer avec une des ouvertures correspondantes <EMI ID=4.1> dans cette dernière suivant une circonférence ayant son centre situé sur l'axe de pivotement du bras et pour rayon la distance séparant l'axe de l'ergot dudit axe de pivotement du bras, le bras et la plaque qui le supporta, Jetant agencés pour'que le bras puisse se déplacer suivant une direction parallèle à l'axe de pivotement ' du bras, un ressort étant prévu pour coopérer avec le bras et la plaque et agencé pour exercer une traction sur le bras suivant une direction parallèle à son axe de pivotement et dans un sens tel que l'ergot porté par le bras est maintenu dans une des ouvertures prévues dans la plaque, ledit ergot étant dégagé de cette ouverture, pour déverrouiller le bras mobile, en exerçant sur ce dernier une traction à l'encontre dudit ressort.
D'autres détails et particularités de l'invention ressortiront de la description des dessins annexés au présent mémoire et qui représentent, à titre d'exemple non limitatif, une forme de réalisation particulière de l'objet de l'invention.
La figure 1 est une vue en élévation, avec brisures partielles, d'un appareil de direction suivant l'invention, les éléments mobiles dudit appareil étant représentés en traits pleins, dans une des positions qu'ils peuvent occuper, les autres.positions dans lesquelles lesdits éléments mobiles peuvent être placés étant représentés en traits interrompus. La figure 2 est une vue en plan, avec brisures partielles, correspondant à la figure 1.
Dans les différentes figures, les mêmes'notations de référence désignent des éléments identiques.
-L'appareil de direction 1, suivant l'invention et montré aux.dessins, est destiné à équiper un bateau à moteur et comprend un organe de commande 2.pouvant tourner autour d'un axe 3 pour agir sur le gouvernail du bateau afin de modifier la direction
de ce dernier, un bras mobile 4 supportant, à son extrémité 5, l'organe de commande 2 pour qu'il puisse tourner autour de l'axe 3 et dont l'extrémité 6 est montée sur le bateau de manière à pivoter autour d'un axe 7 horizontal et situé dans le plan vertical passant par l'axe longitudinal, de trace 8, du bateau, des moyens 9 pour verrouiller le bras 4 en position choisie, des moyens 10 reliant l'organe de commande 2 au gouvernail du bateau et des moyens 11 pour verrouiller, en fonction de la position du bras mobile 4, l'organe 2 en position neutre (position représentée aux dessins) par rapport aux moyens 10 qui relient cet organe 2 au gouvernail du ba-

horizontales opposées (Figure 1), les mouvements du bras 4 s'effectuant au-dessus du plan horizontal passant par le bras lorsqu'il occupe une de ses positions horizontales. Ce pivotement du bras 4

situé dans le plan vertical passant par l'axe longitudinal du bateau, d'amener l'organe de commande 2, et de là déplacer la position de pilotage, d'un bord à l'autre du bateau pour faciliter les opérations d'accostage ou de pilotage lorsqu'on longe des obstacles à babord ou à tribord, le déplacement du bras de 90[deg.] par rapport à une de ses positions horizontales permettant de surélever l'organe de commande 2 et autoriser, lorsque le bateau déjauge, le pilotage en position debout, ce qui permet au pilote d'avoir un excellent champ de vision vers l'avant du bateau malgré le déjaugeage de ce dernier tout en assurant audit pilote une position de pilotage confortable.
Il est bien entendu que, suivant l'invention, on pourrait limiter
le déplacement du bras 4 à un angle de 90[deg.], ce qui permettrait déjà au pilote d'occuper soit une position assise proche d'un des bords <EMI ID=8.1>
position debout facilitant non seulement le pilotage du bateau lorsqu'il déjauge,.mais également le pilotage lors des accostages qu lorsque le bateau longe des obstacles situés à babord ou à tribord.
Dans la forme de réalisation de l'appareil montrée aux dessins,, le bras 4 est monté sur une plaque de support 12 fixée, en position verticale, au bateau et les moyens de verrouillage du bras en position choisie comprennent un ergot 13 fixé sur le bras et destiné à coopérer avec une des trois ouvertures correspondantes 14 prévues dans la plaque 12. Ces ouvertures 14 sont réparties suivant une circonférence dont le centre est situé sur l'axe de pivotement 7
du bras et dont le rayon correspond à la distance séparant l'ergot
13 dudit axe 7. Ces ouvertures sont décalées de 90[deg.] pour permettre le verrouillage du bras 4 dans l'une ou l'autre de ses positions horizontales susdites pour le pilr,tage, en position assise, à.proximité d'un des bords du bateau et dans une position verticale pour le pilotage, en position debout, dans l'axe du bateau. Les moyens 11, prévus pour verrouiller, en fonction de la position du bras 4, l'organe 2 en position neutre par rapport aux moyens'10_susdits, sont constitués par un ergot mobile 28 monté
sur cet organe 2 et destiné à coopérer avec un des logements 29 correspondants ménagés à la périphérie de la buselure 20, ces logements 29 étant régulièrement espacés et leur nombre correspondant au nombre d'ouvertures 15 prévues dans la plaque 12 tandis que la distance angulaire qui sépare deux logements 29 consécutifs est égale à la.distance angulaire séparant deux ouvertures 15 consécutives.
Un ressort 30 est prévu pour coopérer avec l'ergot 28 afin d'exercer sur celui-ci une pression pour le maintenir dans le logement
29 dans lequel il est engagé, un levier de commande 31 étant prévu sur l'ergot 28 afin de le déplacer, à l'encontre_du ressort 30,pour permettre son dégagement du logement 29 dans lèquel il est engagé.

1. Appareil de direction pour engin mobile, en particulier pour une embarcation, caractérisé en ce qu'il_comprend
un organe de commande des moyens de direction de l'engin pouvant
tourner autour d'un-axe pour modifier la direction de l'engin, un
bras mobile supportant, à une de ses extrémités, cet organe de
commande pour qu'il puisse tourner autour de l'axe susdit et dont
l'autre extrémité est montée sur l'engin de manière à pivoter autour d'un axe situé dans un plan parallèle à l'axe longitudinal

To this end, according to the invention, this steering apparatus comprises a control member for the steering means of the vehicle which can rotate about an axis to modify the direction of the vehicle, a movable arm supporting, at a of its ends, this control member so that it can rotate around the aforesaid axis and the other end of which is mounted on the machine so as to pivot about an axis located in a plane parallel to the axis longitudinal of the machine, means for locking the movable arm in the chosen position, means connecting the control member to the steering means of the machine and means for locking, depending on the position of the movable arm, the 'control member in a neutral position with respect to the means which connect it to the steering means of the machine.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the movable arm est.montée on the machine so as to be able to pivot.

-The steering apparatus 1, according to the invention and shown in the drawings, is intended to equip a motor boat and comprises a control member 2 capable of rotating about an axis 3 to act on the rudder of the boat in order to to change the direction

In the embodiment of the apparatus shown in the drawings, the arm 4 is mounted on a support plate 12 fixed, in a vertical position, to the boat and the means for locking the arm in the chosen position comprise a lug 13 fixed on the boat. arm and intended to cooperate with one of the three corresponding openings 14 provided in the plate 12. These openings 14 are distributed along a circumference, the center of which is located on the pivot axis 7

1. Steering apparatus for mobile machinery, in particular for a craft, characterized in that it_includes
a control member for the steering means of the machine which can
