<EMI ID=1.1>

<EMI ID=4.1>
<EMI ID=5.1>
<EMI ID=6.1>

"Transport trolley".
The present invention relates to a transport trolley, in particular a hospital trolley for transporting dirty, malodorous and / or contaminated material, comprising on its frame fixing elements of at least one bag hanging device. made of plastic.
It is known to transport dirty laundry to hospitals, for example, in bags attached to transpox trolleys. These bags are attached to fixing means arranged around circular openings made in the upper surface of the carriage, lids being optionally provided to close these openings.
These trolleys have the drawback that it is necessary, after each introduction of laundry into a bag, to close the opening.
by putting the cover on it, which hospital staff may not automatically do. The bags then remain wide open during transport, which is particularly inconvenient when their contents are smelly, bloody and in particular contaminated. On the other hand, the staff must touch the cover and the cart and therefore can contaminate the latter, which represents an additional risk of contagion during the movement of the cart through the hospital. Therefore, the lid closure does not represent for bags filled with contaminated material, transported through hospital rooms, a sufficient seal vis-à-vis microorganisms.
The object of the present invention is to provide a transport cart making it possible to avoid the aforementioned drawbacks.
According to one embodiment according to the invention, the trolley comprises, by means of the bag hooking device, an element capable of pivoting relative to the frame of the carriage, the bag fixing elements of the hooking device being arranged, on the one hand, on a part of the frame of the carriage and, on the other hand, on the aforementioned pivotable element, a spring element arranged between the frame and the pivoting element of
so as to exert a restoring force on the latter and a stop means against which abuts the recalled pivoting element and which is disposed on the frame, the bag attached to the fixing elements being clamped over its entire width between the pivoting element recalled and the stop means which is provided with an electrical resistance arranged so as to allow a hermetic sealing of the pinched part of the bag, after the filling of the latter, as well as a hooked closed bag opening member, which is planned
so as to exert an opposing force on the pivoting member
to the return force of the spring element.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the carriage according to the invention, the pivoting element and the stop means are arranged against each other along contact surfaces whose shapes are mutually adjusted so that the pinched bag is tightly closed, especially against odors and germs.
According to an improved embodiment of the carriage according to the invention, the stop means is over its entire length an electrical resistance and the carriage comprises a source of electric current, such as a battery, cell, or the like, connected to each of the electrical resistors. arranged on the carriage, a switch being provided to close and open the electrical circuit of each of the resistors.
According to a particularly improved embodiment of the carriage according to the invention, each hooking device is removably attached to the frame of the carriage, the pivot axis of the pivoting element, the spring element exerting a force of return to the pivoting element and the stop means provided with an electrical resistance of each attachment device then being arranged on a frame which is fixedly fixed to the frame of the carriage and can be detached

this electric current attached to said detachable frame.
Other details and features of the invention will emerge from the description given below, without limitation and with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 represents a front view of part of a transport cart according to the invention. Figure 2 is a side view of Figure 1. Figure 3 shows, on an enlarged scale, a sectional view along the line III-III of Figure 1. Figure 4 shows a side view of an improved variant transport cart according to the invention, where the hooking devices are removable.
In the figures, identical or similar elements are designated by the same references.
As illustrated in Figures 1 to 3, the transport trolley is formed by a frame 1 consisting of vertical uprights 2 joined by horizontal cross members 3, this frame

so as to be able to pivot around a horizontal axis 6 fixed on two vertical uprights 2.
The bag 7, made of plastic, in particular thermo

hooks which are arranged, on the one hand, on a part of the frame of the carriage and, on the other hand, on the pivoting frame 5. A cord of elastic material 9 serving as a spring element is housed in a housing 16 fixed to the along the upper cross member 3 and it goes around the entire upper part of the pivoting frame 5,
by exerting a restoring force on the latter. The recalled frame 5 abuts against a stop means 10 fixed on the frame
and the hooked bag 7 is clamped between the upper part of the pivoting frame 5 and the stop means 10. So that their contact surfaces are well adapted, the stop means 10 is fixed on the upper cross member 3 elastically, springs 11 having a force opposite to the restoring force of the cord 9 being arranged between the frame and the stop means
10. The horizontal upper part of the pivoting frame 5 is provided with a lining 12 arranged so as to come into contact with the stop means 10 in a perfectly vertical plane.
The surfaces of the gasket 12 and the stop 10 which enter
in contact have the shape of two elongated rectangles, the lengths of which are located horizontally in a vertical plane.
These surfaces are long enough for the hanging bag to be pinched between them over its entire width.
The lower part 13 of the pivoting frame 5 is curved and forms a pedal 14 on which it is possible to press the foot, thus exerting on the frame a force opposite to the return force of the elastic cord 9. The frame 5 then pivots around. of the axis 6 by moving away from the stop means 10. The part of the bag hooked to the fastening elements 8 arranged on the cross member 3 remains in place. while that hooked to the fastening elements 8 arranged on the frame 5 is driven speak
swivel frame, which causes the bag to open. It is therefore possible to open the bag and keep it open without requiring the use of hands which are useful for inserting the material to be transported into the bag. On the other hand, the introduction of material, for example infected, takes place
<EMI ID = 4.1>
of the cart. Finally, the bag closes automatically as soon as the pressure of the foot on the pedal 14 ceases, under the action of the elastic cord 9.
<EMI ID = 5.1>
closes automatically as soon as the foot pressure ceases
on the pedal 14 under the action of the elastic cord 9.
The material to be transported, possibly dirty, smelly and / or contaminated, therefore remains perceptible to the sight and smell only for a minimum period of time.
Finally, the stop means 10 is constituted by an electric resistance which is connected to a source of electric current not shown, such as a battery, cell or the like, a switch 15 having been provided on the upper surface of the carriage to close or open the electrical circuit, not shown, which corresponds to said resistance. The closing of the electrical circuit causing the heating of the resistor 10, the part of the bag 7, 'pinched between the resistor 10 and the gasket 12
of the pivoting frame 5, is sealed by thermofusion. under the action of the increase in heat of the resistance. This seal offers the advantage of being able to transport infected material through the hospital. without danger of contamination.
A perfac-tioned embodiment of the invention is illustrated in Figure 4. Unlike the carriage according to Figures 1 to 3, this carriage has a frame comprising only two vertical uprights 2 joined by three horizontal cross members 3, this frame being supported by two horizontal supports 17, perpendicular to uprights 2 and cross members 3.
The ends of these supports 17 have support wheels 4 and rollers for protection vis-à-vis the vertical walls 18.
The bag hooking devices provided on these trolleys are removable and are therefore attached to the frame in a detachable manner, for example by screwing. A frame 19 is, in the illustrated embodiment, screwed at 20 on the two upper horizontal cross members 3 of the frame. The pivot axis 6 of the pivoting frame 5, the elastic cord 9 which exerts a force
<EMI ID = 6.1>
which also serves as a stop means for the pivoting frame; are then, in this variant embodiment, arranged on the frame
19 securely attached to the frame of the trolley, and no longer directly to the frame 1. The fixing elements 8 of the bag
<EMI ID = 7.1>
said and, on the other hand, on. the upper part of the pivoting frame 5. Finally, each removable attachment device can comprise an independent current source 21, such as battery, cell, connected directly to the electrical resistance 10 by an electrical circuit, not shown. This current source 21 is attached to the frame 19 and the circuit opening and closing switch 15 is placed directly on the current source.
A support element 22 for the bottom of the bag may be provided so that it can slide vertically along a vertical guide arranged on the frame 19 and be fixed on this frame at a sufficient height for the bottom of the hung bag to rest on. this element of support.
This detachable arrangement of the chassis 1 of the trolley and of the attachment devices makes it possible to envisage the replacement of one or more of the heat-seal attachment devices by others.; Devices necessary in hospitals, for example by sets of drawers, shelves and the like, as illustrated by reference 23.
It should be understood that the present invention is not
in no way limited to the embodiment described above and that many modifications can be made to it without departing from the scope of the present patent.
