Abstract

A circular screen for use in a vibrating sieve, has a light disposable ring holder, e.g. of glass fibre/polyester (which may be reinforced by a T section steel insert); the holder being in two sections, with a groove at the inner edge of lower section, holding a pref. silicone 'O' ring seal, which prevents leakage of adhesive, or subsequent weakening by penetration of sieved products. The screen is assembled by hydraulically clamping sections around screen material, stretched on a frame rolled into position on a trolley. Adhesive, e.g. amine accelerated epoxy adhesive, is electrically heat hardened, and water cooled before surplus material is trimmed off. A central disc is simultaneously attached by the same process; and serves to tension screen during use, by screw adjustment.
