Abstract

In known brush elements metal backing strips are used, to which the brush fibres are fixed. These brush elements are, however heavy, unbalanced and come open whilst in use, so that the fibres are released from the backing part. In the method according to the invention the frame part is made of plastic, in that a molten plastic strip is injection-moulded on top of the strip of joined fibres, and a predetermined section of the preform thus made is pressed between moulds 4 and 5, thereby forming a dimensionally very accurate, light and durable brush plate 6 of solid plastic. <IMAGE>
