Abstract

The Al is first cleaned of existing oxide then anodised under controlled conditions of temp. and current density so as to achieve a rate of deposition of oxide equal to the rate of soln., using any normal anodising bath, and drying. A film of acrylic, epoxide, silicone, polycarbonate, polyamide, polyurethane or haloe - substd. hydrocarbon resin is than applied. The method of producing the anodised layer gives improved adhesion to the resin.
