Abstract

Process for an offset printing plate comprising a water resistant paper or synthetic resin film support on which is coated successively a hydrophilic layer, a silver halide emulsion layer, and a layer contg. physical development nuclei. The emulsion layer is practically free from water soluble inorganic salts; the ratio of silver nitrate to binder is from 1:1 to 3:1; also the emulsion contains 5-30% based on the binder of 2-10 micron powder particles. Prefd. powders are colloidal silica, clay, talc, rice starch etc. Improved adhesion is obtd. resulting in more copies with better quality.
