Abstract
Method of making high purity NaCl from crude brine saturated with NaCl and almost saturated with CaSO4 comprises evaporating crude non-purified brine to the point of crystallization of NaCl, then crystallizing by evaporation, washing the saline slurry formed with the crude brine, and separating the NaCl crystals and the CaSO4 crystals in countercurrent. The NaCl is of requisite purity for electrolysis.
