Abstract

For reaction of a certain no. of solns with a substrate, drops of soln. are held by surface tension in holes in a support, which in turn is held in an upper plate. A substrate is placed on a lower fixed plate and the upper plate lowered until the protruding lower side of the drops or samples of liquid touch the substrate, thereby transferring discrete amounts of the liquid(s) at separate locations on the substrate. Used esp. in study of reactions catalysed by trypsin.
