Op de bodem van een vlakke vorm van 20 x 20 cm werd een deklaag uitgespreid bestaande uit een mengsel van 203 gram droog zand (korreldiameter kleiner dan 0,3 mm); 11,4 gram van een 71,3 gew.-% waterige fenol-resolharsoplossing, met een molaire formaldehyde-fenolverhouding van 1,5; 0,456 gram hexamethyleentetramine; en 0,114 gram 'Silane A-1100' (een handelsprodukt
van 'Union Carbide').
Na aandrukken van deze deklaag werd de kernlaag hierop aangebracht, bestaande uit een mengsel van 1050 gram geëxpandeerde klei (handelsmerk 'KORLIN'), met een korreldiameter van 6 tot 12 mm, oppervlakkig gecoat met een

oplossing (zie boven); 3,8 gram hexamethyleentetramine; 1 gram 'Silane A-1100'; en 132 gram gemalen krijt.
Na aandrukken van deze kernlaag werd weer een deklaag aangebracht
van bovenvermelde samenstelling en hoeveelheid.
Het geheel werd nu in een pers bij een druk van 1 kg/cm<2> tot een

bereikte, werd de plaat uit de vorm genomen en gekoeld.
De verkregen bouwplaat was.ca. 4 cm dik en woog ongeveer 35 kg/m<2>.

Bij het persen en verhitten dringt een gedeelte van deklagen in de open structuur van de kernlaag, hetgeen uiteraard de eigenschappen van de verkregen bouwplaat schaadt en het materiaalverbruik vergroot. Deze bezwaren konden worden vermeden door op de eerste deklaag van voorbeeld III een glasvlies te leggen, vervolgens de kernlaag aan te brengen, hierop weer een

A covering layer consisting of a mixture of 203 grams of dry sand (grain diameter less than 0.3 mm) was spread on the bottom of a flat form of 20 x 20 cm; 11.4 grams of a 71.3 weight percent aqueous phenolic resole resin solution, having a formaldehyde to phenol molar ratio of 1.5; 0.456 grams of hexamethylenetetramine; and 0.114 grams of "Silane A-1100" (a commercial product
of 'Union Carbide').
After pressing on this top layer, the core layer was applied to it, consisting of a mixture of 1050 grams of expanded clay (trademark 'KORLIN'), with a grain diameter of 6 to 12 mm, surface coated with a

solution (see above); 3.8 grams of hexamethylenetetramine; 1 gram of 'Silane A-1100'; and 132 grams of ground chalk.
After pressing on this core layer, another top layer was applied
of the above composition and amount.
The whole was now placed in a press at a pressure of 1 kg / cm <2> to one

the plate was demolded and cooled.
The build plate obtained was approx. 4 cm thick and weighed about 35 kg / m <2>.

During pressing and heating, some of the cover layers penetrate into the open structure of the core layer, which of course damages the properties of the resulting building board and increases the material consumption. These drawbacks could be avoided by laying a glass fleece on the first top layer of example III, then applying the core layer, on top of it again.
