Abstract

Ceramic slip dispenser, for the moulds of a casting machine for ceramic articles, comprising a clay slip reservoir, a slip distribution nozzle, a stop valve in the pipe connecting the reservoir and nozzle and a level detector designed to detect the level of the slip in a mould situated below the nozzle and to operate the stop valve in accordance with this level. The level detector comprises two conducting probes associated with and operated by the nozzles in such a way that when the nozzle is in the mould filling position, a circuit is closed between the probes by the slip in the mould when this has reached the required level. The nozzle is supported in a framework so that it can be displaced relative to this between the mould filling position and a retracted position, while probe cleaning means are mounted on the frame and come into action during each cycle of displacement.
