Abstract

Sports ground cover consists of a layer of porous concrete carrying a layer of water permeable plastics or rubber material. The cover rapidly absorbs rain water, or water used for washing. The layer of plastics or rubber material on the concrete prevents rapid wear of sports equipment e.g. tennis or basket balls, and protects the players in case of fall. The layer of plastics or rubber material pref. has a large number of channels allowing water falling on its free surface to be rapidly evacuated towards the concrete layer. The plastics or rubber layer is formed by particles of plastics or rubber material, which are agglomerated to form the channels.
