Abstract

Composite sheet for covering surfaces consists of an inflammable support, a layer of decorative fabric, and an intermediate layer of bonded glass fibres forming a flame proof screen for the support. Specif. the glass fibres are in the form of a tightly woven fabric. The layer of glass fibres is provided with contacting wires or a printed circuit forming an electric heating resistance. The conducting wires are woven into the glass fibre fabric. The glass fibre fabric is provided with a heat reflecting metallic substance, which may coat the threads of glass fibres. The decorative fabric is bonded to the glass fibre fabric, or the glass fibre fabric itself forms the decorative fabric. The support pref. consists of polyurethane foam. Used for covering floors, walls and ceilings. The intermediate glass fibre layer protects the inflammable support from flames, even when exposed continuously to flames at temps. up to 750 degrees C.
