Abstract

An internal skin made of an edible material is filled with food e.g. meat and the filled skin is then introduced into an external skin (which may or may not be edible). The space surrounding the filled skin is then filled with further food e.g. sauerkraut. optionally, the external skin may contain two separate filled skins. Also the internal skins may be made of material which dissolves on cooking of the sausage.
