Refractory heat insulation material. Particles of an aerogel and supporting ceramic fibres are thoroughly mixed in a vessel containing movable blades. The latter are rotated to create a vortex, to ensure thorough dispersion and subdivision. The aerogel and the fibres are then joined together.
