<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"Boiler"
The present invention relates to a boiler having a heating surface in contact with a fluid to be heated.
The aim of the invention is to present a boiler in which the admissible heat exchange is
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
relatively high compared to known boilers by increasing, in a very simple way, the circulation of the fluid to be heated in the boiler.
To this end, according to the invention, a guiding screen extends in the aforesaid fluid opposite at least part of the heating surface, at a distance from the latter, an inlet and an outlet. for the fluid being provided at opposite ends of the space between the screen and the heating surface, so as to ensure circulation of the fluid in this space, the length of the heating surface.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the screen extends substantially parallel to the heating surface.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the screen consists of a sheath extending, over at least a large part, around the heating surface.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the sheath consists of a cylinder coaxial with the focal point.
Other details and particularities of the invention will emerge from the description of the drawings appended hereto and which represent, by way of non-limiting examples, two embodiments of the invention.

lisation of the invention.
Figure 2 is a schematic elevational view in section of a boiler according to a second embodiment of the invention.
In both figures, the same reference numbers designate the same elements,
The boiler shown in Figure 1 comprises a horizontal cylindrical hearth 1 in which is placed a burner 2 and which is surrounded by an outer casing 3 in which circulates water 4. Flue tubes 5 passing through the water 4 connect the hearth 1 has a chimney, not shown in the figure, so as to be able to recover part of the heat from the fumes directed towards said chimney.
The walls 6 of the fireplace 1 and the tubes 5 constitute the heating surface through which the transmission of heat from the flames and smoke takes place to the water contained in the casing 4,
According to the invention, the hearth 1 is surrounded by a sheath 8 coaxial with the hearth 1 and extending at a certain distance from the wall 6 of the latter. This sheath & forms a guide screen and defines a space 7 with the wall 6.
An inlet 9 and an outlet 10 for the water 4 are provided at the opposite ends of the space 7, so as to ensure a circulation of the water 4 in this space 7, in the direction of the arrows 11, along the fireplace wall 6 1.
The water 4 is brought into the space 7 by a pipe
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
12, emerging at the inlet 9 of this space 7. This water passes through the space 7 in the direction of the arrows 11 and arrives inside the outer casing 3 to be evacuated, after additional heating by the tubes. 5, via line 13 and to be then recirculated into the boiler via line 12.
The boiler shown in figure 2 differs from that shown in figure 1, by the fact that, in the boiler of figure 2, the tubes 5 of the first flashback are, like the hearth 1, also surrounded by a sheath cylindrical 14, This sheath is connected to the sheath 8 by a chamber 15 formed by a plate 16 and the vertical wall 17 of the hearth. This arrangement allows the passage of the water to be heated from the sheath 8 to the sheath 14 in the direction of the arrows 11.
The judicious guiding thus obtained of the water on the heating surface increases the permissible heat exchange compared to known internal combustion boilers.
It is in this way possible to transmit more heat per unit of heating surface and therefore to reduce the total surface area of the heating surface for the same quantity of useful heat desired.
The screen according to the invention is therefore subjected on its two faces to practically the same hydraulic pressure.
The use of such a screen makes it possible to bring to the boilers with lower hearth and smoke tubes the advantages.

management of forced circulation, while retaining their main advantage which is to be the type of boiler having the simplest maintenance and, in particular, much simpler than that of water tube boilers.
It should be understood that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described but that many variations can be envisaged without departing from the scope of the present patent.
Thus the guide screen can have very diverse shapes and that it can, for example, consist of a common sheath surrounding a group of several tubes,
