<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

in the vertical plane passing through the bending axis, said wire being bent around the aforesaid cylindrical branch, the bent finger being associated with means intended to immobilize, during the bending operation and at the location of the bending,
a wire arranged parallel to the aforesaid folding axis.
Generally employed welded mesh folding machines have the disadvantage of not allowing the folding of the mesh at the location of the wires extending parallel to the folding axis. The bent finger forming the subject of Belgian patent No. 660,494 overcomes this drawback by allowing the production of reinforcing cages of great rigidity by bending the welded mesh at the location of the wires extending parallel to the bending axis.
However, when the son, called carrier son, extending by Klalement to the folding axis have a much larger diameter than the diameter of the son, called distribution son. perpendicular to the vertical plane passing through the folding axis, it has been observed that the supporting threads were not always perfectly maintained, during the folding and at the location of the folding, by the aforesaid bent finger.
The object of the invention is, on the one hand, to remedy this drawback and, on the other hand, to provide an angled finger making it possible to maintain, exactly at the place of bending, a carrier wire and that whatever the diameters of the supporting fila and distribution wires.
For this purpose, according to the invention, the aforesaid means are constituted by a groove formed in the aforesaid cylindrical branch at the folding location, this groove extending parallel to the folding axis and being formed over the entire length. length of the cylindrical branch.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the depth of the aforesaid groove is substantially

equal to the diameter of the wires of the welded mesh arranged parallel to the bending axis, wires where the bending will be carried out.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the aforementioned groove is of semi-circular section so as to match the elm of the wire to be immobilized.
Other details and features of the invention will emerge from the description of the drawings appended hereto and which represent, by way of nonlimiting example, a particular embodiment of the subject of the invention.
FIG. 1 is an elevational view, with partial break, of the bent finger according to the invention, the element of the pile on which the finger is removably fixed, being shown in phantom.
Figure 2 is a side view of the bent finger.
In the various figures, the same reference notations designate similar elements.
The finger 4, shown in Figures 1 and 2, comprises a cylindrical branch 9 whose axis coincides with the folding axis of the folder. The branch 9 is fixed, along one of its generatrices, to one of the wings 10 'of an angle 11, the other wing 12 of which is intended to allow, thanks to a threaded part 25 and to a screw 26, the fixing of the finger 4 to the support bar 1 of the folder. The wing 10 ′ of the angle iron 11 this recessed, at 13, so as to form the second branch 15 of the finger and to form the aforementioned angle 16 of the latter.
The aforementioned means making it possible to immobilize a carrier wire 7, at the location of the folding, during the operation of folding the distribution wires 6, consist of a groove 27 in which this carrier wire is introduced, this groove being made in branch 9 of
