<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Un train d'engrenages et le cliquet 31 sont fixés sur une platina 33 ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>

New automatic winding photographic camera.
The present invention relates to an automatic winding apparatus for 'VU .. 1 and, more particularly, to an apparatus whose automatic winding device makes it possible to take pictures at very short time intervals *. '
Attempts have already been made to manufacture cameras comprising an automatic drive device for the photosensitive product called hereafter Apre * fila.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
However, some of these known devices are unusable, because they are not weak; there is a risk of winding an unexposed film surface due to a malfunction of a signal or locking device coupling the film to the driving device or the shutter can be operated as the photosensitive product may or may not have been advanced by a length corresponding to a photograph. In addition, these devices which require advanced techniques * are of a complex mechanical construction and pose serious problems for the constitution of spare parts stores because they include a large number of parts.
According to the present invention, there is provided a photographic camera which comprises an improved device for automatic film winding having a safety mechanism linking the correct placement of the film to the operation of the shutter and a speed regulator. .
In the attached drawing given only as an example; - Fig. 1 is a schematic perspective view of a camera according to the invention - Fig. 2 is a partial perspective view of an embodiment of the automatic winding device according to the invention - FIG. 3 is an "exploded" view of the device shown in FIG. 2; FIG. 4 is a detail view of part of the device shown in FIGS. 2 and 3; FIG. 5 is a cut-away view "of part of the device shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 with which other elements forming part of the invention are associated.

81 an auxiliary lighting device with a flash lamp is used, if it is sufficient to replace the flash lamp after this shooting. It should be noted that it is not necessary to act on the winding button 13 after each shooting.
The simplification of the ease of use of the camera according to the invention requires multiple seasons between the winding button 13 and the thumb-piece 19.
Horn shown in Figs. 2 and 3, the combined actions of the winding button 13 and thumb lever 19 produce a downward vertical movement, indicated by an arrow 20, of a trigger 21 when the button is pressed. pusher 19.
When the trigger device 21 is moved in the direction of arrow 20, it leaves its rest position by pivoting.

both around an axis 22 so that an arm 24 releases a latch 25 which, biased by a spring 26, acts on a shutter 27, as is well known * The operation of the shutter 27 allows a specific range of fila 17 to be exposed.
The relative positions of the arm 24 and of the axis 22 of the trigger device 21 are chosen so that the spring 26 cannot rotate the said arm *
When the thumb-piece 19 is pressed and the trigger device 21 is maintained in its lower position, any subsequent operation of the apparatus according to the invention is blocked by a locking device which comprises a tab 28 which acts on a pawl 31 which comes into contact with one of the teeth 32 of a ratchet pinion 30. In other words, when we press on the pulley 19, therefore when we lower the trigger device 21, we comes to apply the pawl 31 against one of the teeth 32 of the ratchet pinion 30 to immobilize the latter and all the elements which are integral with it.
A gear train and the pawl 31 are fixed on a plate 33;
The operation of the camera according to the invention is provided by a motor, for example a mechanical spring motor, which is coupled to the ratchet pinion 30 by means of a drive gear train. The pivoting of the trigger device 21 is only the first phase of the operating cycle ensuring the automatic driving of the film 17. When the thumb lever 19 is released, the trigger device 21 returns to the position. initial rest under the action of the torque of a spring 34; the pawl 31 is then released and the ratchet pinion 30 can again rotate.
A second pawl 36, integral with a feeler, is arranged so as to come into contact, under certain conditions.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
of a second tooth 37 of the ratchet pinion 30 so as to immobilize the cornate as has just been indicated. The pawl 36 is integral with a feeler 38 which detects marks, for example perforations 39, of the wire 17. When the feeler 38 has in one of these perforations 39 the pawl 36 is in the active position preventing the rotation of the pinion. ratchet 30. Attached to the pawl 36 and the feeler 38, a tab 40 constitutes with the latter part of the elements of a counter 41 which pivots on an axis 42.
A relatively weak spring 43 urges the counter 41 so as to move the feeler 38 away from the perforations 39 and the pawl 36 of the ratchet pinion 30, to release the latter. A relatively weak spring 43 can be used because the pawl 31 is arranged to rotate the ratchet pinion 30 a few degrees in the direction opposite to its normal direction of rotation to relieve it from the stresses exerted by the pawl 36. Thus, the torque due to the weak spring 43 is annihilated by that of the spring 26 which applies via a rack 46 in the rest position, the feeler 38 against the wire 17.
As shown in the drawing, the rest position of the rack 46 (when it acts on the tab 40) is defined by the curved portion of a tab 45 which is pressed against the tab 40. This feature of the The invention will be described in more detail with reference to Fig.4.
Initially, the tab 45 of the rack 46, supporting the latch 25, is disposed beyond the tab 40 of the counter 41. The rack 46 moves very rapidly under the action of the spring 26, thus, the tab 40 is released and the counter 41, biased by the weak spring 43, pivots to release the ratchet 37 from the pawl 36 before we can release the thumb lever 19 (Fig.1) Thus, when the louse is released. cier 19, the ratchet pinion 30 can turn as well as the pinion

50 fixed to its upper part which engages with the pinion 51, integral with the pinion 52. The pinion 52 engages with the teeth 54 of the rack 46 and moves it against the force exerted by the spring 26.
During its movements to the right and to the left, the rack 46 is guided by a foot 55 which passes through a slot 56. During the return of the rack 46. The tab 45 is no longer in contact with the tab 40 of the counter 41 and, thus, the feeler 38 is not applied against the film 17. During this part of its travel, a second tab 57, disposed at the anterior part of the rack * passes behind the tab 40 to ensure the creation. - meshes 46 a determined trajectory with respect to the base 55 and to the pinion 52. This trajectory is fixed so that the pinion 52 meshes with the teeth 54 of the rack 46 during its return movement *
The trajectory of the rack 46 is shown in Fig. 4.
The stroke described by the angle A of the rack 46, when it moves to the left, is represented by line 60, in broken lines the return stroke is represented by line 61, in broken lines. The rack 46 has been shown in the position it occupies when the latch 25 is retained by the arm 24 of the release device. When the release device 21 is rotated, the arm 24 releases the latch 25 and the angle A moves, biased by the spring 26.
This initial movement is guided by the tab 40 of the counter 41 on which slides the tab 45 of the rack 46. When the tab 45 crosses the end of the tab 40, the angle A is driven backwards and 'stops at B, as shown, the foot 55 being in contact with the end of the slot 56. When the rack 46 moves and releases the tab 40, the counter 41, biased by the weak spring 43, pivots. way that the pinion to
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
ratchet 30 can turn when pawl 31 is released *
This rotation of the counter 41 also separates the feeler 38 from the fila 17.
When the trigger 81 is released, the tab 28 no longer rests on the pawl 31 and the ratchet pinion 30 can all rotate by the action of the torque exerted by the drive motor so that the pinion 52 drives the rack 46 which is guided by the foot 55. The tent 56 and the spring 26. In the relative positions of the foot 55 and the pinion 52 and the force exerted by the spring 26 are such that the tabs 45 and 57 pass behind the tab 40 , as represented by the dashed line 61 starting from the point
B.
When the angle A reaches C, the pinion 52 engages with a toothing 62 to drag this part of the rack 46 towards the front wall of the housing 10.During this part of the path, the tab 57 comes to the side. contact of tab 40 to ensure engagement of pinion 52 on rack 62.
As soon as the tab 57 has escaped from the tab 40, the rack 46 is partially free to approach the arm 24 biased by the spring 26. However, the relative positions of the base 55 and the slot 56 on the one hand, and of pinion 52, on the other hand, are such that toothing 54 does not remain in engagement with said pinion 52; thus, the gear train can continue to rotate. On the other hand, the arm 40 cannot approach the film 17, because the feeler 38 is applied against the surface of the latter (FIG. 3). The rack 46 remains in this position until the feeler 38 detects one of the perforations 39 and enters it.
The tab 40 having released the gold $ - maiilère 46 and the triggering device 21 having been previously released, the 1 inguet 25 hooks onto the arm 24, and the operating cycle is ended. It should be noted that the rack 46 performs a certain number of other functions.
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
Another angle D, posterior to the rack 46 also describes a single path during the displacement of the angle A, anterior to said rack.
During the rearward movement of the rack 46, the angle D follows a path 64, substantially rectilinear $ until the pinion 52 meshes with the teeth 62. When the pinion 52 is in contact with the teeth 62, the Angle D follows a lateral path 65 until a cam 66 comes into contact with a projection 67. This cam 66 prevents excessive forward movement of the pawl 25 in such a way that it cannot. encounter other elements of the appliance casing as it moves rapidly towards the front wall.
This cam also ensures a suitable gap between the teeth 54 and the pinion 52. When the angle D reaches the position E, the tab 57 has separated from the tab 40 so that the rack 46 initiates its displacement to the left. The cams 68, 69 and 70, respectively, follow the projection 67; the cam 69 is designed to immobilize the rack 46 which is subjected to a system of forces comprising the reactions caused by the contact of the tabs 40 and 45.
The rack 46 only describes the last part of its trajectory when the feeler 38 enters one of the perforations 39 of the film, it then continues its movement to the left. Finally, the latch 25 hooks onto the arm 24 and the film 17, as well as the trigger device 21, is then ready for the next shot.
It should be noted that if the driving torque transmitted by the gear train is not sufficient to complete a complete operating cycle, the implementation of the triggering device 21 does not release the 1 inguet 25 to cause the operation of the shutter 27. Owing to the relationships existing between the various elements which have just been described, it is impossible to achieve a double exposure.

drive shaft 83 which passes through a bearing 84 of the plate 33 then which enters a central tent 86 of a drive spring 85 whose branches 87 engage with notches * 88 of the driver 74. The spring 85 allows axial displacement, of limited amplitude, of the driver 74 during the opening and closing of the movable back of the casing The driving shaft 83 is connected to the spring 82 by a bevelled tab 89 which prevents damage to the springs On the The drive shaft 83 is wedged a gear 90 which in engagement with the pinion 91 drives a gear train including the pinion 52;
this gear train comprises a large diameter toothed wheel 51 which meshes with the pinion 50. As shown in Fig.5 the ratchet pinion 30 is driven at an angular speed greater than that of the driving shaft 83.
In addition to its function dragged fila 17, the ratchet pinion 30 acts as a speed regulator * This speed regulator comprises two weights 94 driven by lugs 96 integral with the ratchet pinion 30. During their rotation the weights 94 are subjected to centrifugal forces which apply them against the interior wall of a fixed bowl 97. The operating time, which is a function of the length of the perforations 39 and the reaction time of the counter 41, is fixed the maximum admissible entrainment speed of the film 17 so that the probe 38 reliably detects each of the perforations 39.
In addition, the positions of the teeth of the ratchet relative to those of the carriers 39 not being predictable., Being a function of the au = extension of the diameter of the turns wound on the receiving coil * 72, it It is not impossible for the pawl 36 to come into contact with one of the teeth of the ratchet pinion 30 at the precise angle where it crosses the top of one of the latter just before locking.
It is therefore essential to limit the operating speed of the device using a regulator *

The supporting shaft 83 is also guided by the bearing 84 and

the slot 86 of the drive transfer 85. The position of the drive shaft 83 is further fixed by a tab 104 of a retaining plate 105. The retaining plate 105 is held fixed relative to the housing 100 by slots and cleats 106. the extract of the drive shaft 83 rotates under the end of the tab 104. So as to exert a constant force on the drive shaft 83, whatever its position, The lower surface of finger 104 is flat.
Cuckold there is a gap between the finger 104 and the retaining plate 105, the mainspring 82 tends to slip therein. To avoid this anomaly a washer 107 is placed which pivots on the upper end of the drive shaft. 83. The diameter of this washer is equal to or less than the minimum gap separating the interior surface of the housing 100 from the eccentric opening 103.
The spring 82 is banded by turning the knurling 109 of the winding button so that an internal toothing 110 causes clicks 111 which rotate the plate 105 and the housing 100 which is integral with it. The untimely restitution of the energy stored by the spring 82 is prevented by a ratchet plate 112 which is fixed to the housing 10 and to the plate * 33. Elastic ratchets cooperate with notches 114 of the housing 100 so that the relaxation of the spring 82 does not spin it. The plate 112 is easily fixed on the housing 100 by threading it on the bearing 102.
In this way, the fixing of the plate 112 on the housing 10 of the camera ensures the assembly of the assembly of the winding button 13 including the spring motor and the cap 115.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown, which was chosen only by way of example.
