genre et, à cet effet, elle prévoit que le revêtement de la face supérieure se prolonge, à l'intérieur de ladite cavité,
par une couronne de languettes radiales destinées à être re- foulées vers l'intérieur de ladite cavité lorsque l'objet à supporter est engagé dans cette cavité. De ce fait, lesdites languettes assurent un serrage élastique dudit objet dans ladite cavité et masquent en même temps ledit rembourrage, ce qui améliore l'esthétique de l'ensemble lorsque l'objet sup- porté est transparent. En outre, la découpe centrale à effec- tuer dans la feuille recouvrant la face supérieure devient plus petite, en réduisant ainsi les déchets, parce que la partie formant lesdites languettes est conservée et joue un rôle utile dans le support.

Dans ce dessin 1 désigne l'ensemble du support qui, dans l'exemple illustré, présente la forme d'un triangle curviligne, mais qui pourrait aussi présenter toute autre forme extérieure, par exemple circulaire ou polygonale. Le rembourrage est entouré d'un revêtement en feuille de matière plastique qui, selon l'invention, comprend une couronne de languettes 5 prolongeant la feuille de plastique recouvrant la face supérieure du support, ces languettes faisant saillie à l'intérieur de la cavité 3, de façon à être pliées vers l'intérieur de celle-ci lorsqu'on y engage le cendrier 4 ou objet analogue, en effectuant un serrage élastique sur cet objet et en masquant la face interne du rembourrage 2. À cet effet, il est utile de donner aux languettes 5 une longueur sensiblement égale à l'épaisseur du rembourrage 2.
Le revêtement de matière plastique comprend normalement un fond 6 et une partie 7 recouvrant la face supérieure et la face latérale extérieure du rembourrage 2, cette partie 7 étant soudée au bord du fond 6. Selon l'invention, la partie 7 ce prolonge par les languettes 5 formées par des entailles ra- diales faites dans le bord intérieur de la partie 7. Le revê- tement de la face supérieure est, de préférence, doublé par une deuxième feuille de matière plastique.8 qui couvre inté- rieurement la couronne de languettes 5 et au moins une partie de la feuille 7 qui recouvre la face supérieure du rembourrage 2.
Les feuilles 7 et 8 sont soudées entre elles le long des bords libres des languettes 5 et, de préférence, aussi suivant une ligne 9, en l'occurrence circulaire, formant les charnières pour les languettes. Cette ligne 9 se trouve, de préférence, un peu à l'intérieur de la cavité 3, de façon à améliorer le serrage de l'objet 4 et assurer la formation d'un bel arrondi du revêtement plastique autour de celui-ci.
La feuille 7 est, de préférence, munie d'une couche de mousse plastique 10 sur sa face intérieure, cette mousse aug- mentant encore l'action de serrage élastique des languettes 5.

La partie extérieure de la feuille 8 est, de préférence, engagée dans l'épaisseur du rembourrage 2. Cela se fait aisément en introduisant une couche de carton ou analogue 11 entre la feuille 8 et la feuille 7, avant le rabattement de cette dernière autour du rembourrage 2 et sa soudure au fond 6.
Il va de soi qu'un support selon l'invention peut présenter un contour extérieur de forme quelconque. De même, la couronne de languettes 5, bien qu'elle aura en général la forme d'un anneau circulaire, pourrait éventuellement être réalisée sous une autre forme, adaptée à celle d'un objet de conformation particulière.
Ainsi, par exemple, la cavité 3 peut avoir un contour rectangulaire et une seule languette 5 peut être prévue sur chacun de ses côtés, comme montré en Fige 6 et 7. Si l'objet à supporter présente une section verticale en U, deux des languettes peuvent alors s'engager dans les creux latéraux de cet U pour agir sur le contenu d'un tel objet, et comme montré en 5 a dans la Fig 7, ces deux languettes peuvent alors être un peu plus étroites que les cotés correspondants de la cavité 3.

by a ring of radial tabs intended to be pushed back towards the inside of said cavity when the object to be supported is engaged in this cavity. As a result, said tabs provide elastic clamping of said object in said cavity and at the same time mask said padding, which improves the aesthetics of the assembly when the supported object is transparent. Further, the central cut to be made in the sheet covering the upper face becomes smaller, thereby reducing waste, because the portion forming said tabs is retained and plays a useful role in the support.

In this drawing 1 designates the whole of the support which, in the example illustrated, has the shape of a curvilinear triangle, but which could also have any other external shape, for example circular or polygonal. This support comprises a padding 2, for example cardboard or the like, having a central cavity 3 whose diameter and depth are determined according to the dimensions of the object which is

intended to be engaged, for example an ashtray 4.
The padding is surrounded by a coating of plastic sheet which, according to the invention, comprises a crown of tabs 5 extending the plastic sheet covering the upper face of the support, these tabs projecting inside the cavity 3 , so as to be folded towards the inside thereof when the ashtray 4 or similar object is engaged therein, by performing an elastic clamping on this object and by masking the internal face of the padding 2. For this purpose, it is useful to give the tongues 5 a length substantially equal to the thickness of the padding 2.
The plastic material coating normally comprises a bottom 6 and a part 7 covering the upper face and the outer side face of the padding 2, this part 7 being welded to the edge of the bottom 6. According to the invention, part 7 is extended by the tongues 5 formed by radial notches made in the inner edge of the part 7. The coating of the upper face is preferably lined with a second plastic sheet. 8 which internally covers the crown of the part. tongues 5 and at least part of the sheet 7 which covers the upper face of the padding 2.
The sheets 7 and 8 are welded together along the free edges of the tongues 5 and, preferably, also along a line 9, in this case circular, forming the hinges for the tongues. The outer part of the sheet 8 is preferably engaged in the thickness of the padding 2. This is easily done by inserting a layer of cardboard or the like 11 between the sheet 8 and the sheet 7, before the latter is folded around. padding 2 and its weld to the bottom 6.
It goes without saying that a support according to the invention can have an external contour of any shape. Likewise, the crown of tongues 5, although it will generally have the shape of a circular ring, could possibly be produced in another form, adapted to that of an object of particular conformation.
Thus, for example, the cavity 3 may have a rectangular outline and a single tongue 5 may be provided on each of its sides, as shown in Figures 6 and 7. If the object to be supported has a vertical U-shaped section, two of the tongues can then engage in the lateral hollows of this U to act on the content of such an object, and as shown at 5 a in Fig 7, these two tongues can then be a little narrower than the corresponding sides of cavity 3.
