The present invention relates to grinding wheels for grinding and sharpening tools.
Its purpose is to speed up the replacement of one grinding wheel by another while ensuring efficient fixing of the grinding wheel to the hub.
For this purpose, the cleat, object of the invention, is characterized in that it comprises pushers which come, under the effect of centrifugal force, to apply the grinding wheel strongly against a rear stop of the stack.
In the practical embodiment of the invention, these pushers are, at rest, held in place by a slight spring and slide freely in their housings, making it easy to place and remove the grinding wheel.
The cleat has a cylindrical or conical bore depending on the machine shaft and is fixed by a nut screwed onto the end of the a- xeo
The cleat is arranged in the form of a collar pierced with openings to receive the pushers subjected to the action of the springs.
The upper part of these pushers is of frustoconical shape to which corresponds a similar profile of the interior of the grinding wheel.
The cleat has a rim against which the side of the grinding wheel abuts under the action of the pushers.
The attached drawings show an embodiment of a batten according to the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a section through the axis of rotation of the grinding wheel, the upper half passing through one of the pushers, the lower part through one of the fixing screws of one of the springs.
Figo 2 is a section along the plane II-II of figo 1.
Figo3 shows an end view of the hub.
In these figures, 1 designates the shaft of the machine which must receive the cleat.
It is represented here by a cone 3, but can also be cylindrical. It ends with a threaded part 4. This shaft receives a grinding wheel body 5 having a flange 6 against which the flank 7 of a grinding wheel 20 must abut.
This body 5 is arranged at its front end so as to form an interior chamber 8 by a projection or collar 9.
This is pierced with a number of openings 10 (four in the example shown) in which pushers 11 with a frustoconical head 12 and having a wheelbase 130 are engaged.
These pushers are normally pushed out by some means, for example an individual coil spring or, as in the example shown, by a spring wire 14 fixed on a pin 15 screwed into the body 5 and serving as a spring for two neighboring push buttons.
For this purpose ;, these pushers each have a hole 16 in which the spring wire 14 is engaged (figo 2).
The cleat is held in place by a fixing plug 17 which is screwed onto the threaded part 4 of the axis 1.
Under these conditions, the different parts of the cleat being mounted, the fixing plug 17 keeps the body 5 in place on the conical part 3 or cylindrical part of the axis 1, the pushers 11 having been

previously set up by the chamber 80 The frustoconical head 12 of these protrude beyond the perimeter of the collar under the action of the spring 14.
The installation of a grinding wheel 2 takes place simply by pushing it by the top of the pushers 11 which disappear as they pass and return to their place as soon as the grinding wheel occupies the location intended for it, its side 7 being in contact with the edge 6 of the body 50 The grinding wheel obviously has a profile internally corresponding to the taper of the pushers so Even if the pushers did not rise enough to apply the grinding wheel against the rim, the sharpening machine is set to rotate. would cause the pushers to come out completely and ensure the installation of the pushers and therefore of the grinding wheel and to keep it in place during rotation by the effect of the centrifugal force.
The change of
grinding wheel is easy and fast. It suffices to remove it by a tractive force which lowers the push-buttons, to replace it with another and to put the device back into motion without prior adjustment, the rotation of the parts ensuring the positioning itself. .
1. Cleat for cup wheels, characterized in that it comprises pushers which come under the effect of centrifugal force, to apply the grinding wheel strongly against a rear stop of the cleat.
2. Cleat of the type mentioned under 1, characterized in that these pushers are, at rest, held in place by a slight spring and slide freely in their housings making it easy to place and remove the grinding wheel.
3. Cleat of the type mentioned under 1 and 2, characterized in that it comprises a cylindrical or conical bore depending on the shaft of the machine and is fixed by a nut screwed onto the threaded end of the axis.
4. Cleat of the type mentioned under 1 to 3, characterized in that it is arranged in the form of a collar pierced with openings to receive the pushers subjected to the action of the springs.
50 Cleat of the type mentioned under 1 to 4, characterized in that the upper part of these pushers is of frustoconical shape to which corresponds a similar profile of the interior of the grinding wheel.
