<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Fig.9 est un plan suivant Fig.8.
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

The present invention relates to a mixing divider which can be used for example for fruits, vegetables, etc., or respectively for sauces, creams, etc., and provided with a vessel serving to contain the product to be divided and to mix, as well as' a driven shaft enga- ging into this vase, carrying a divider and mixer
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
and animated by a rotational movement.
Apparatus of this kind known hitherto comprise, for driving the rotating divider-mixer member, a member which is generally made in the form of a knife, a motor arranged in a base used for the vessel, this motor driving the member via a coupling member coming out of the vessel.
With devices of this type there is always a risk that the point of passage of the shaft which carries the dividing and mixing member in the bottom of the vessel is not waterproof, and moreover, cleaning this member is difficult, because it is placed at the bottom of the vase. It has also already been proposed to ensure that the electric motor can also be used for other uses, for example to drive a vacuum cleaner, but the base carrying the motor must then be adapted in a particular way to the construction. tion of the vacuum cleaner, and it is therefore expensive.
The knife of the divider-mixer which is the object of the present invention is rotatably mounted on a shaft end fixed to the bottom of the container and it carries a coupling member, while a cover which can be applied on. the container carries a part serving as a bearing for the passage of a shaft driven by the electric motor and leaving the housing at one end, this part also serving to support the motor frame, that of the ends of the shaft which is stengaged in the a container carrying a coupling member engaged with the knife coupling member when the cover is placed on the container.
An exemplary embodiment of a divider-mixer constructed according to the invention is shown, by way of non-limiting example, in the accompanying drawings, in which:

Fig. 1 is an axial section of the lower part of the apparatus, certain parts being shown in elevation.
Fig.2 is an axial section of the upper part of the apparatus.
Fig.3 is a cross section of the housing of the part shown in Fig.2 Fig.4 is a plan of the upper part according to Fig.2, the housing cap being removed.

Fig.6 is an axial section of an oscillating support for the apparatus;
Fig.7 is a plan according to Fig.6.
Fig. 8 is a side view of another support oscil- lan.t for the apparatus, and
Fig.9 is a plan according to Fig.8.
The apparatus shown comprises a vessel 1, preferably made of metal, serving to contain the product which is to be divided and mixed. The vessel is provided with a foot 2 which is connected to the vessel by means of a screw 3 with axial perforation and a nut 4 and additional washers 6 and 7 placed below. The edge of the foot 2, the edge which is folded inwards, carries a rubber ring 8, so that the foot rests on this ring 8 when the vessel 1 is placed on a support. The peripheral wall of the vessel 1 has four stamped ribs 10.
A cover 11, for example made of transparent synthetic material, pierced with an opening 12 and fitting in a sealed manner, can be engaged on the upper edge of the vase. The opening 12, which serves to introduce the material to be divided and mixed, can be closed by means of a register 14 which can turn around a screw 13, with nut

13te axially pierced right through and fixed to the center of the cover. A handle 15 serves to maneuver this register 14, the lower edge of the opening engaging in a notch in the handle 15, so that the register is guided there.
An anchor 16 inserted under pressure in an axial bore of the screw 3 engages the vessel 1 and carries a bush 17 made of anti-friction metal. The central boss 18 of a knife 19 (fig.5) can be fitted onto this sleeve 17, a ring 20 disposed in an annular groove of the sleeve 17 holding the boss 18 by friction on this sleeve 17. The knife 19 is made in the form of a propeller with four blades, the edges of which are in parts cut to a point, these blades themselves being folded down in planes inclined with respect to planes perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The inclination of these planes is different for the different blades. The tapered edges of the blades may be toothed.
The upper end of the boss 18 contains a trim 21 of synthetic material, for example nylon, with a hexagonal opening.
The axial perforation in the screw 13 is provided with a gasket 22 of rubber, elastic synthetic material or the like.
In the perforation of the screw 13, respectively in its lining 22, an appendix 23 in the form of a plug can be inserted which can be connected to the casing 24 made of insulating material of an electric motor 25. As can be seen in FIGS. 3 and 4, the housing 24 is provided on two opposite faces with a flattening 26 provided with ribs 27.
The electric motor 25 is provided at one end with a threaded pipe 28, which is introduced through
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
a perforation provided in the lower end of the casing An annular nut 29 screwed onto the file-open tubing 28 hand. firmly holds the word, eur 25 in the housing 24.
The appendix 23 contains a sleeve 30 with a ball bearing 31 and a plain bearing member 32. In the ball bearing 31 and in the slide bearing member 32 is housed so that a shaft can easily be rotated. 33, protruding downwards out of the appendix 23.
The outer free end of the shaft 33 has a hexagonal section 34, which can be inserted into the hexagonal hole provided in the gasket 21, to couple the pin 33 with the boss 18. The inner end of the shaft. bre 33 likewise has a hexagonal section 35.
The appendage 23 is screwed onto the threaded socket 28, the bearing element 30 being screwed into the internal thread provided for this purpose in the appendix 23.
The hexagonal end 35 is accommodated in a hexagonal hole of a coupling sleeve 36 made of electrically insulating material, for example nylon. In a hexagonal hole of the coupling sleeve 36 separated by a transverse wall from the hole receiving the hexagonal end 35 is housed a hexagonal end 37 provided at the lower end of the shaft 38 of the motor 25.
The two shafts 33 and 38 are completely electrically isolated from each other by this coupling sleeve.
A cap 39 of insulating material, which is fixed by the annular nut 40 to the insulating casing 24, closes the motor 25 upwards.
In the cap 39 is introduced a sleeve 41, through which passes a cable, not shown, to supply the electric current to the motor. In the headdress 39 are more
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
arranged a two-position push-button switch 42 and a capacitor 43 in order to protect the motor 25 against disturbances.
At both ends, the motor shaft drives the impeller wheels of a fan 44, respectively 45, to blow cool air through the motor. The fresh air therefore flows through holes 46 provided in the cover 39, respectively through holes 47 provided in the housing 24.
When the motor housing 24 is separated from the cover 11, the boss 18 and the knife 19 remain on the sleeve 17. The shaft 33 can then be held by its hexagonal end 34 in a hexagonal housing 48 provided in the sleeve. boss 49 of a support 50 (Fig. 6 and 7) or of a support 51 (Fig. 8 and 9). These supports, which are made of elastic material, for example nylon, can be used to mix, respectively beat in any containers crames, sauces and the like therein. The supports 50 and 51 have radial holes 52 disposed obliquely and on the underside of the support 51 are disposed tabs 53.
Instead of the boss 18 carrying the knife 19, one could also engage on the pin 16 or the bush 17 a second boss carrying a sieve basket. We can then print a rotational movement to this screen basket by means of the motor 24 or the hexagonal end 47 located at the end of the shaft 44, by engaging this hexagonal end 47 in a hexagonal hole of the boss bearing this basket.
A splined disc could also be used which is applied to and rotatable on the pin 16, this disc being provided with a hexagonal hole in which the hexagonal end 47 of the shaft section 44 can be engaged.
