   La machine pour l'abatage mécanique de la houille se compose de: 1 Un chariot. 



   Un chariot (CH) comprenant un chassis fermé (CHI) porté par deux chenilles (CH2) (Une de chaque coté)Dans ce chassis se trouve un moteur électrique(ou a air   comprimé)(CH3)   avec mécanisme de transmission(CH49 qui actimnne les chenilles dans les deux sens,faisant ainsi mouvoir le dit chariot a gauche at a droite de font de la veine. 



  2/ Ver l'avant du coté gauche du chariot est montée une haveus   ..ou fraise a charbon (H) pratique une fente horizontale   de 5 a 12 c/m de hauteur dans le pied de la veine ;   cettehavesue est mjue électriquement et peut s'effacer contre la   chenille (CH2) pour le transport facile(Moindre encombrement 
Ce mouvement-se fait au moyen d'un cylindre hydraulique(CI)   ui amène et appuie solidement la haveuse dans la veine. 



  3/Cylindre-appui.   



   Le   chariot(CH)   a du coté opposé a la veine(V) et attaché au châssis (CHI) ,un cylindre hydraulique(C2). Ce cylindre est a double effet et porte deux   pistons(PI)   et   P2)   appu- yants au moyen de rotules (RI) et de fortes plaques(PLI) sur le sol et sur le plafond de la veine immobilisant de cet te façon le chariot (CH) et la haveuse(H). 



   4/ Cylindre-abateur. 



   Vers le milieu du cylindre hydraulique(C2) est attaché par rotule un cylindre hydraulique horizontal(C3). L e piston (P3) de ce cylindre porte une forte tète de burin (T) en acier qui peut etre appuié avec force(15 a 45 tonnes) contre la paroi verticale de la face de la   veine(V),et   abat tre ainsi le charbon.

   Ce cylindre(C3)peur être   horienté   verticalement par les cylindres hydrauliques   auxillières   (C4 et C5) qui prennet appuis par plaques (PL2) et rotules(R2) sur le sol et le plafond de la veine. L'Orientation   horizon*/   tale est obtenue par un cylindre hydraulique(06) atta- ché au châssis (CH)   duchariot   et en dessous du cylind   dre(C3)  
A l'intérieur du piston   creux(3?3)   il y a un piston   marteau(PM)   libre qui peut etre   chassé   au bon moment contre la face avant du piston creux(P3 ceci pour - ajouter a l'effet de la pression un effet de rupture. 



  ' La tète du burin   s'incline   suivant la direction, des couches du charbon(litage) qui sont de   structure   dif ferente:   Durain(Dur   et mat) vitrain(cassant et bril- lant) et fusain(doux et friable) . 



   Des blocs aussi grands que pratiques peuvent de telle façon etre   abattus  avec un minimum de menu et de poussière. 



   Un cylindre hydraulique C7 Permet de lever et d'a- baisser le cylindre -appui (02) pour amener le point d'appui d cylindre abatteur 03 a la bonne hauteur et direction horizontale. 



   Des chaines a ressort CR maintiennet les cylindres
C4 et C5 verticalement quand-ils sont libres pendant le déplacement de lamachine. 



  5/ Dégageur. 



   A coté de la haveuse H se trouve un bras dégageur BD qui est manoeuvré lui aussi par un cylindre hydrauliqe
C8. Ce bras libère l'espace de chute et amène la houil- le abattue a pieds de l'appareil a charger   AC,   qui   @   jète le charbon sur le ruban transporteur ou dans une berline. 



   En cas de grande épaisseur de veine,on mets des blocs appuis sur les plaques d'appuis PLI
Tous les cylindres sont commandés par la même pompe
