<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
L'appareil comporte en outre des dispositifs auxiliaires tels que les suivants - un tableau de commande électrique pour assurer le oontrô- le de tous les moteurs avec dispositifs d'asservissement.et de sécurité rendant impossible toute fausse manoeuvre; - un ampèremètre placé sur ce tableau pour connaître à 'ohaque instant le débit de grenaille projeté par la turbine;

The present invention refers to devices for stripping by spraying materials such as sand or shot, on the parts to be treated contained in a drum driven by a rotational movement which forces said parts to present all their faces to the surface. action of the projection jets.
Its object is a low-volume apparatus, which makes it possible in particular to reduce to a minimum the downtime required by the operations of loading and unloading the parts. In addition, this apparatus is arranged so as to allow its loading at the rear and its unloading at the front, which has the advantage that such an apparatus can be placed.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
directly and in series in the circuit of a production line.
According to one characteristic of the invention, the apparatus according to the invention comprises a drum which can be driven with a rotational movement around its axis during work and unloading and with a tilting movement around a horizontal axis. to allow loading and unloading operations.
The drum is enclosed in a fully sealed box, at the upper part of which is placed the turbine projecting the sand or the shot.
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge from the description which follows and which relates to an embodiment of an apparatus according to the invention.
In this description reference is made to the accompanying drawing which shows fig.l an elevational view of the apparatus; fig. 2 a side elevational view of the apparatus.
As shown, the apparatus according to the invention comprises a fully sealed box 1 suitably skeleton. In this box is mounted a drum 2 in which are placed the parts to be stripped. This drum is mounted on a cradle 3 by means of a shaft 4 journaling within a scope of said ber-oeauo The latter is itself suspended by shafts 6 and '7.
The shaft 6 turns idle in the bearing of the cradle and it is driven by means of an elastic coupling 8 by a motor with reduction gear 9. This shaft, which carries a bevel pinion 10 meshing with a toothed wheel 11 integral with of the drum, ensures the rotation of said drum around its axis. The shaft 7, wedged on the cradle, can be actuated by means of a steering wheel 12 so as to allow the tilting of the cradle and consequently that of the drum.
The mounting of the drum on the cradle. rocker 3 allows, by acting on the steering wheel 12, to give it the following positions
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
a) a position, shown at 2a on the, pin 2, for which the opening of the drum is horizontal or slightly inclined to the horizontal, this position being that which corresponds to the operation of loading the parts to be treated; b) a working position, shown at 2b in fig.2, for which the opening of the tumbour is directed towards the turbine; c) a position, shown at 2 in fig.2, for which the opening of the drum is directed downwards for the exit of the parts which have been pickled.
In positions b and c, the drum 'is animated by a
Slow rotation movement to allow, on the one hand, the work of the parts on all their faces, and on the other hand, the evacuation of the parts out of the drum after the work.
The turbine 13 projecting the abrasive is mounted on the part 14 of the box 1 and it is driven by a motor 15. the shape of the drum is such that it allows it to tilt without coming into contact with the turbine while .in the. working position, the abrasive jets are directed entirely inside said drum. The drum is, for this purpose, formed by two truncated cones joined by their larger base.
When the drum is loaded and brought into the working position, the abrasive material, such as sand or shot, is itself brought into the turbine by means of a pipe 16 and is projected inside the drum onto the parts to be stripped. The abrasive material then passes through the openings with which the drum is provided and falls into a hopper 17 from where it is discharged at the. lower part by a worm conveyor 19 which brings it to an elevator contained in: The housing 18.
The conveyor and the elevator are operated by means of a motor 20.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
when it arrives at the upper part of the apparatus, the abrasive material passes through a dust separator which comprises perforated partitions arranged in baffles 21-22, over which the material passes and an air inlet 23 which expels the dust into an evacuation tube 24. The abrasive material then falls into a hood 25 serving as an abrasive reserve and is admitted back into the turbine, through the pipe 160 when abrasive feeds into the turbine can be adjusted. by any suitable means and in particular by means of a flow control register which can be associated with a bypass pipe 26 leading directly into the box 1.
This device for recycling the abrasive allows, during downtime, the elevator.
18 and the screw 19 remaining in operation, to maintain the circulation of abrasive in the screening device 25, which. has the effect of improving the quality of the dusting of this abrasive.
To better distribute the action of the abrasive jets on the parts and to prevent abrasive bouncing outside the tank
11, one can provide a perforated sheet forming a screen disposed on the opening of the drum.
In order to facilitate the loading of the drum, the apparatus comprises a loading skip constituted by two uprights 27 on which the bearing rollers roll. a bucket 28. The bucket is raised by means of a winch driven by a motor 29 and, when it reaches the high position, it is tilted by passing the rollers on conduits 30-31. In this position the contents of the bucket are discharged into the drum brought into its loading position. The skip can be removable, which makes it possible to use it in the workshop for transporting parts.
The treated parts leave the device through an unloading door 32 provided on the front of the device and can
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
pour directly into a cart; rolling on the ground, to facilitate their removal and subsequent handling.
In order to facilitate maintenance of the turbine, the inspection door 33 is raised upwards around hinges 34 and serves as a platform,
The apparatus further comprises auxiliary devices such as the following: - an electrical control panel to ensure the control of all the motors with servo-servo and safety devices making any incorrect operation impossible; - an ammeter placed on this panel to know at each moment the flow rate of shot projected by the turbine;
- a timer placed on the dashboard and altarpiece according to the type of work to be done to allow, depending on the case, either to light a light signal, or to cut the flow of abrasive, which, while reducing monitoring , avoids excessive stripping and the unnecessary costs that would result.
'It should be understood that the invention is not limited to the embodiment which has just been described but that it can be implemented according to various variants.
