<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"New spinning process and spinning looms applying this process.
The main patent discloses a new process of continuous spinning applying an extraordinarily simple mechanism by which the yarn, between the unwinder and the spindle or spool, bears on various support points, at least one of which is light. - clearly spaced from the longitudinal axis of said section of wire. The latter moves longitudinally and said support points rotate around said longitudinal axis.
In one embodiment, the Applicant recommended to achieve groups of support points by three rollers including. longitudinal axes are staggered on the same vertical alignment
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
cal, the wire resting on one side of the two end rollers and on the opposite side on the intermediate roller.
It is specified that one could use several groups of such contact rollers, for example two, arranged one above the other and, for example, one above the housing and the other. another below said casing housing the device for driving the supports of said rollers in rotation.
The object of the present application is to specify in which circumstances it is necessary to make use of a single, group or of a plurality of groups of such support points in order to achieve satisfactory twist or twist of the yarn. .
In the case of the application of a single group of three support rollers, 3-4-5 for example, it is mandatory to apply the stresses of the wire in such a way that the positive twist or different from negative la.torsion in order to leave a differential twist in the wound wire.
Indeed, if we admit, for example, in the apparatus described in the main patent, that the wick is delivered 'by the unwinder 1 at the speed of L m / min, that the rollers 3-4 and rotate at the speed of M t / min in direction. counterclockwise and the spool 2 winds the wire at said speed of L m / min, we can find ourselves in front of the following two essential cases: a) - if the twist between the rollers 3 and 4 is released completely, there will be, to the right of the right roller, a left torsion of negative conventional value equal to -N.
If we admit that the relaxation is total, the torsion returns to zero and to the right @ of the roller 5, the torsion is equal, but the inverse of the first, that is to say that it is positive and in the occurrence equal to + N.
L
In this case, therefore, maximum torsion will be achieved with an eminently simple device. If some slack occurs between the end rollers. 3. and 5, without reaching zero torsion, a differential torsion will be obtained.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
b) - On the other hand, there may be cases where the slackening of the torsion between the end rollers 1 and µ is practically zero so that the right torsion is identical to the initial left torsion, which results in obviously a zero torsion, let-N + N 0.
It is therefore with a view to 'solving such an LL case that, in the main patent, the Applicant has recommended the use - of a plurality of groups of contact points, in particular two, arranged respectively above and on under the housing in order to be rotated in opposite directions to each other while maintaining the section of wire between the unwinder and the spindle or spool practically along a vertical axis, except the two points derivation resulting from the arrangement of the support elements in the two successive groups.
This arrangement is shown schematically in Figure 8 and, in one application, in longitudinal section and side view, respectively, in Figures 9 and 10.
In said figure 8, the doubling of the support elements is shown schematically by the two groups of rollers 3-4-5, one rotating in one direction and the other in the opposite direction around the common axis DE . The wire A coming from the unwinder 1 is supported on the two groups ± the,, rollers and is finally wound on the spool 2 rotating around the axis FG and animated with a reciprocating longitudinal movement in the direction of the arrow f.
In the exemplary embodiment of FIGS. 9 and 10, there is found the casing 14 comprising the device for driving the groups of support points in rotation., Ce. device consists of a small tray; . @
10 in which is fixed the .amount 9 bearing .The axis of the rollers
3, 4 and 5, 6-7 and 8 respectively. This plate 10 is integral with a pulley 11 driven by belts or in any other way; the lower group of rollers is also mounted fixed '/. on individual journals, respectively 6-7-8 / cantilevered on a post 9.
This is also linked to a

pulley 11 'driven by friction, belt or otherwise. The .il-II pulleys could be mutually combined and any other mechanism could be envisaged to ensure rotation 'in direction. Suitable, groups of wire support rollers. The other parts of the apparatus are as described and illustrated in the main patent.
It would obviously be possible to multiply the groups of support rollers and to arrange them in any way other than that indicated by way of example; these groups of rollers could be 'disposed above or below the housing 14 and held in place in any suitable manner'.
The operation is also as described in the main patent, the various translational and rotational speeds being essentially variable respectively adjustable. The process is applicable to any twisting, spinning machine and any similar machine.
