The invention relates to a device allowing the flooded mounting of devices comprising a pot-shaped case which carries along its edge or in the vicinity of the latter a fixing flange and which is placed in an opening made in a wall. The device of the invention is intended in particular for mounting audible warning signals, actuated by electromagnetic means, in the wall of the bodywork of motor vehicles.
The object of the invention is to enable devices which have been embedded in said wall to be assembled with the wall, in such a way that the vibrations and impacts to which the wall is exposed are not transmitted to the device. with all their intensity. According to the invention, this result is obtained as follows.
The device of the invention is characterized by appendages, preferably in the form of a sleeve mounted against the face of the flange facing the bottom of the case, appendages to which are applied elastic intermediate members which are assembled on the other hand. with the wall.
The invention also extends to the characteristics resulting from the following description and the appended drawings as well as to their possible combinations.
The drawing shows two exemplary embodiments of: the object of the invention.
FIG. 1 represents an elevational view, in partial section, of an electromagnetic warning signal mounted in the wall of the body of a vehicle.
Figure 2 shows a partial plan view corresponding to Figure 1.
Figure 3 shows a partial plan view of the body wall.
Figure 4 shows a plan view of the warning signal, seen from below the wall of the body.
FIG. 5 shows a second embodiment, with partial section.
In the drawing, the reference 10 designates the box, in the form of a pot, with an electromagnetic sound warning signal, and the reference number 11 designates a mounting flange provided at the edge of the box. To the flange and along the circumference of the latter, are fixed, on the side facing the bottom of the case, several sleeves 12 arranged at equal intervals. The fixing of these sleeves is provided by screws 13 which pass through holes 14 of the flange, the reference 15 designates the wall of the body of a motor vehicle.
This wall has an opening 16, the diameter of which is a little larger than the outer diameter of the housing 10. In the wall of the coach-: 'rie, there is provided at the edge of the opening 16 of the notches 17 for the passage of sleeves 12. At the other end of each of the sleeves, is screwed one of the ends of a group of two leaf springs 18, parallel to each other. The other end of the leaf spring 18 is fixed to a metal part 19 which has been made integral with the wall of the bodywork by welding or otherwise.
Between the flange and the wall of the body, is mounted a ring 20, of soft rubber, the inner edge of which is in contact, in a flexible manner, with the wall of the box of the audible warning signal.
On the housing flange, rests the metal membrane 21 of the signal

This diaphragm is clamped between: the. flange and a ring 22, the cross section of which is in the form of an angle by means of screws 13 and other screws 23. The screws 23 serve at the same time for the fixing of springs 24 of round metal wire which are bent so as to have a corrugated shape These springs are each held by two neighboring screws 23 and they are arranged in such a way that their middle part protrudes with respect to the outer edge of the ring 22. On these springs is introduced a cover 25 in the form of a. upturned bowl that covers the warning signal.
This cover has $ 2 in its edge. bent down a continuous groove 27 in which engages the projecting part of each of the springs,
In FIG. 5, a second exemplary embodiment is shown.
In this example, the warning signal is carried again, as in the case of the example according to FIG. 1, by sleeves 12 which are assembled, by means of leaf springs 18, with the wall 15 of the coachwork. But here, the metal parts 30 lying against the wall of the body have a sufficient thickness so that the distance between the wall of the body and the leaf springs is greater than the length of the sleeves 12, increased by the thickness of the flange 11 and the thickness of the heads of the screws 13. The wall of the body therefore covers the brick, with the heads of the screws -The cover 31 covering the warning signal comprises in this example a flange 32 which is tightened between the heads of the screws 13 and 23 and the flange 11.
