Fig. 1 représente, en élévation latérale, un brûleur de cuisine muni de son chapeau;
Fig. 2 est une coupe partielle, verticale, du corps de brûleur et de son chapeau;

KITCHEN BURNER FOR LIQUID GAS, INCLUDING AN UNUSED CAP.
The present invention relates to a kitchen burner for liquid gas, comprising a non-secured cap. To obtain with liquid gas burners the regulatory power for town gas, which is 1600 kcal / h for ordinary burners and 2400 kcal / h for large models, it is necessary to give the orifice of gas outlet in these burners a section greater than that required by town gas. As the diameter of the burner is limited, it is hardly possible to directly increase its outlet section.
Propane burners have therefore been proposed, for example, comprising an intermediate ring, placed between the cap and the burner body, the two rings of which bear serrations, thus providing two superimposed rows of gas outlet ports. Propane burners have also been recommended, the cap of which carries, in addition to vertical orifices, horizontal outlet orifices made in a sheet metal ring inserted between the cap and the body of the burner.
In a burner according to the present invention, the increase in the total gas outlet section is obtained without recourse to any additional member, by the sole fact that the gas outlet orifices constitute vertical notches in the edge of the burner body. , so that by judiciously adjusting the height of these notches it is possible to conform the total burner outlet section to the particular properties of the liquid gases used, while at the same time these notches are kept tight in order to prevent the tendency to flashback existing in liquid gases.
The solution according to the present invention therefore has the double advantage, not only of adjusting the total gas outlet section as a function of the properties particular to liquid gases, but also of curbing the tendency of these gases to flashback.

Another characteristic of the invention resides in that the vertical notches made in the edge of the burner body are found in several groups, and that in each group these notches are arranged between them in such a way that, the central notch having an orientation radial, the others are parallel to it. The various groups of flames thus formed form between them an angle within which an air supply occurs both towards the two adjacent groups of flames, resulting in the elimination, around the flame, of the characteristic bulbous veil. , frequent in liquid gas burners, and in strengthening the green flame itself.
Another characteristic of the invention resides in that the burner cap rests on the circular rim of the burner body by pads which, extending from the inside to the outside of the burner body, bear only over part of the width of this circular rim, which determines in front of the pads, between the cap and the burner body, an uninterrupted annular space which further increases the total gas outlet section, and which promotes the supply of combustion air o In the direction of the burner axis, these pads are extended by oblique ridges thanks to which, when the burner cap is fitted, said pads are automatically centered on the inner edge of the burner body , so that it is sufficient, even in operation,
to drop the burner cap above the burner body so that it automatically finds the correct alignment
An embodiment of the invention, indicated by way of example only, is illustrated by the drawings opposite, in which:
Fig. 1 shows, in side elevation, a kitchen burner fitted with its cap;
Fig. 2 is a partial vertical section of the burner body and its cap;
Figo 3 shows in plan the body of the burner with the cap removed.
On the free edge of the burner body 1 are made vertical notches 3 which constitute the gas outlet orifices Depending on the particular properties of the liquid gas that the burner will have to use, the height of the vertical notches 3 will be modified, the spacing of which horizontal is also kept tight and less than 1 mm, for example, which has the effect of suppressing the tendency to flashback frequently manifested by slow liquid gases to ignite.
As can be seen from FIG. 3, the vertical notches 3 are distributed into several groups, and in each group the middle notch 3 has a radial orientation, the others being parallel to it. It follows that the groups of flames which form at the exit of these notches have between them an angle b in which an additional air intake occurs in the direction of the two adjacent groups of flames, thus helping to curb the appearance, common in liquefied gas burners, a bulbous veil around the flame, and to reinforce the green flame propero
As can be seen from Figs 1 and 2, the burner cap 2 rests on the circular rim 6 of the burner body 1 by low height pads 40 From the inner edge 7 (Figo 2)
of the burner body to the outside of the burner, these pads 4 only bear on part of the width of the rim 6 and extend towards the rear by oblique ridges 5 forming an angle a with the internal wall of the body burner, which determine, when fitting the cap, the self-centering of the pads relative to the internal edge 7 of the burner body. This only partial support of the pads 4 on the circular rim 6 determines an uninterrupted annular space which increases the total gas outlet section and facilitates the access of the make-up air to the flames escaping from said notches.
The kitchen burner according to the invention is particularly suitable

ment to the use of slow-igniting propane.
If it is to be used for town gas, the vertical extension of the notches can be limited by the application of a sheet metal ring.
