DEVELOPMENT IN; SPRINKLERS. OF THE TYPE, BACK.

The present invention relates to the nozzles and more particularly to the part of these constituting the sprayer proper.

The sprayers presently in use are generally a "baffle" with straight grooves with a straight bottom terminating in a central swirl chamber in which the oil acquires rapid rotation before exiting through the spray orifice.

-The return type nozzles have on the other hand a central orifice through which part of the liquid can return to the suction of the pump.

The machining of the grooves with a rectilinear bottom bringing the liquid to the swirl chamber is very difficult to achieve because of the particularly small dimensions of these members.

Finally, it has been observed that, even in return nozzles, it is difficult to achieve minimum flow rates less than 25 to 30% of the maximum flow rate while maintaining satisfactory spraying.

The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks and to provide a nozzle the baffle of which is of greatly simplified and more economical manufacture and which gives the oil jets a direction favorable to the formation of a perfect spray, even. at very low flow rates down to 10% of the maximum flow rate.

In this buta the nozzle., Object of the invention, is characterized in that its baffle has grooves or ducts with a curved bottom.

In the practical embodiment of the invention, this curvature is formed by an arc of a circle directed from the oil supply holes towards the swirl chamber under the spray orifice.

In order to make the invention fully understood, an exemplary embodiment will be given below.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

Fig. 1 shows in section the head of a sprayer provided with its baffle and its ejection pellet.

Fig. 2 shows in section the fixing body holding the chuck and the pad in place in the sprayer head.

Fig. 3 is a section of the isolated pellet.

Fig. 4 is a section of the isolated baffle.

Fig. 5 shows the chicane in plan.

As shown in these figures, the sprayer is composed, as known, of a head 1 which internally receives a pellet 2 pierced with a central opening 3 for sprayed oil ejection., And a baffle 4 pierced with holes 5 which open into grooves 6 communicating with a turbulence chamber 7. A pipe 8 allows the return of the oil.

These elements are held in place in the head 1 by a fixing body 9 (FIG. 2).

According to the invention, the grooves 6 have their bottom 10 curved, so as to direct the oil streams from the holes 5 following a curved path towards the turbulence chamber 7 and the central ejection opening 3.

The curved bottom of these grooves is in practice an arc of a circle and the machining of these grooves is particularly simple. It is achieved by simply advancing a circular milling cutter in the plane of the groove to be traced and tangent to the swirl chamber 7.

The curvature of the bottom of these grooves has the effect of detaching the oil streams from the bottom of the swirl chamber and of precipitating them against the bottom 11 of the pellet 2.
