<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

IMPROVEMENTS TO SHIRTS, BELTS AND SIMILAR OBJECTS.
1 Ladies' elastic fabric sleeves generally tend to curl along 'their top edge.' In order to avoid such a deformation, sheaths having on the interior side, leaves' of springs extending over the major part of the 'height of the sheath -' neo However, the sheaths thus arranged are not satisfactory, because they irritate the skin and hinder the movements of the person who is provided with them, in particular the flexion of the bust '.
The object of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks and to produce a sheath which maintains the parts of the body with which they are in contact but without causing any irritation to the skin and without interfering with freedom of movement.
According to this invention, it is inserted at the anterior part. of the sheath, between the outer elastic fabric and an inner lining, a sheet of fabric formed of plastic threads and fixed to said fabric by stitch lines or any equivalent means.
The effect of this sheet of plastic material is to give the sheath all the desirable hold without in any way affecting its elasticity.
In the accompanying drawings
Figs. 1 to 4 show a sheath according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a front view of the sheath.
Fig. 2 is an enlarged view showing the sheet of plastic fabric for reinforcing the sheath.
Fig. 3 is an elevational view showing, seen from the rear, the anterior part of the sheath.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Figo 4 is a view similar to Figo 3, the lining 'being supposed to be partially unstitched to show the fabric it is intended to cover.:, -
Figs. 5, 6 and 7 relate to a jar-holder belt, in accordance with the invention.
Fig. 5 is a front elevational view.
Figo 6 is an elevational view taken from the rear.
Fig. 7 is a partial view on a larger scale taken also from the rear, the liner supposedly torn off on one side and raised on the other, in order to show parts of the reinforcement fabric.
The sheath shown in Fig. 1 to 4 is made up of an elastic "fabric" 1 provided with borders 2,3 and garters 40 "According to the invention, there is placed on the inner side of the sheath a sheet of fabric formed of plastic threads and shown in 5 fig. 2.
The plastics fabric may preferably consist of linear polyamide yarns. Such a fabric in fact has the advantage of lending itself, without losing its elasticity, to any change in shape that is imposed on it and of immediately resuming its initial configuration as soon as it is left to itself.
The fabric sheet is cut in a trapezoidal contour and is secured by zigzag stitching lines 6 on a piece of fabric 7, also having a trapezoidal contour and forming a lining of the sheath.
The lining 7 is fixed to the elastic fabric 1 by two lines of oblique stitching 8, 9. This lining extends over the entire height of the sheath, and it is fixed at the top and bottom to the elastic fabric 1 by the stitch lines 10 and 11 which hold the edges 2 and 30,
The fabric of plastiquer5 preferably extends only over part of the height of the sheath, as seen in FIG. 4 where the lower edge of this fabric is indicated at 12.
The sheath thus formed is very comfortable to wear. The = presence of the piece of plastic fabric 5, prevents the sheath from rolling round its upper edge and it exerts a light pressure on the stomach without irritating the skin o This sheath therefore allows the movements of the bust and always tends to resume its initial shape .
The plastic fabric 5 is on the other hand preferably chosen with sufficiently large mesh to allow the passage of air and in no way impede perspiration.
The garter belt shown in fig. 5 to 7 is reinforced in a manner analogous to that which has just been described.
This belt comprises a median panel 15 on either side of which are arranged two end panels 14 and 16. The median panel 15 'is covered on the inside by a piece of fabric 17 forming a lining. Between this lining and the panel 15 is interposed a piece of plastic fabric visible at 18 in FIG. 7. The slider 15, the plastic fabric 18 and the lining 17 are joined on their periphery by the lines of stitching upper 21. lower 22, side
23, 24. Further, stitch lines 25 extend between the top and bottom edges securing the same pieces in the middle region.
It must be understood that the two examples of realization described have been given only as examples and that we can add
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
any modifications of detail without departing from the scope of the invention. In particular, the outline of the interior plastic fabric and its mode of attachment could be different from those which have been shown.
