<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

VEHICLE, WHEEL, LOCATED IN A SINGLE PLAN, ESPECIALLY MOTORCYCLE
SCOOTER OR MOTORCYCLE.
In motor-scooters and motorcycles in which the frame is strongly indented, like a ladies' bicycle, in order to allow easy saddle-up, the fact that the user does not have a pick-up point. Support for the knees is felt very unpleasantly by this one. This considerably affects the safety of the road, which until now was the main objection that was made to these vehicles. The invention offers the possibility of driving such vehicles also with the knee grip. To this end, an element provided with surfaces of. contact for the driver's knees protrudes into the cradle jig at a suitable height.
In order to make it possible to easily get on and off the vehicle, the element carrying the gripping or bearing surfaces can be mounted so as to be able to be moved away from the jig of the cradle (by raising, for example).
However, it can also be mounted fixed, without causing too much discomfort for the movements of the user, for example, in the case of a tank placed in the front part of the cradle, the gripping surfaces can be made integral with this reservoir, for example in the form of a crest, relatively wide, projecting rearwardly.
The accompanying drawings are schematic side views of two exemplary embodiments of the invention.
In these drawings:
Figure 1 shows a device called auto-scooter; Figure 2 shows a motorcycle.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
In the motorcycle-scooter of Figure 1, the stand 3 of the knee support 4, which is provided with rubber buffers on its two faces, is articulated to the steering tube using the articulation 2. In the position of use, this crutch is supported by its beak 5 on the steering tube.
The fixing of the joint 2 to the tube 1 must be protected from any lateral displacement, otherwise the device would fail its purpose.
To allow getting on and off the vehicle, the knee support 4 occupies the raised position (shown in dotted lines in which it is held by a known snap-in device. Once in the saddle, the driver folds the support back. - knees so that in this position it protrudes towards the inside of the cradle. The articulation 2 can be adjustable in height along the tube 1, to allow adaptation to the different sizes of the conductors. , the stand 3 can be telescopic.
In the motorcycle shown in figure 2, the main and lower tube 6 of the frame, strongly indented downwards, carries the enveloping tank 7. The latter is provided on its dorsal face with a wide crest in the form of a bead 8, carrying the cushions 9 forming knee support.
By means of an appropriate arrangement of the saddle, of the footrest and of the reservoir relative to the cradle of the frame 6, it is possible to allow a knee grip without too much hindering the free passage through the cradle.
