COUVRE-CULASSE POUR MOTEURS A CULBUTEURS.
La présente invention est relative à un couvre-culasse pour moteurs à culbuteurs.
L'invention a pour objet essentiel la réalisation d'un couvre-cu- lasse qui puisse .être mis en place correctement,¯ sans aucune difficulté, ce couvre-culasse étant congu de manière à assurer un bon refroidissement des culbuteurs et soupapes, et à supprimer le cliquetis des culbuteurs ainsi que les mauvaises odeurso
Un autre objet de l'invention est d'équiper un couvre-culasse avec un joint d'étanchéité ne se désagrégeant pas, ce qui permet de nombreux démon- tages du couvre-culasse sans qu'il y ait lieu de procéder à un remplacement touj ours difficile du joint d'étanchéité.
Un autre objet de l'invention est enfin de réaliser un couvre-cu- lasse assurant une récupération des vapeurs d'huile et empêchant ainsi que ces vapeurs viennent encrasser le moteur en pénétrant dans ses cylindres.
Le couvre-culasse selon l'invention qui est, de préférence, réali- sé en un alliage léger fondu est caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte à sa base et sur tout son pourtour un joint d'étanchéité, encastré dans une rainure con- tinue présentant en section la forme d'une queue d'aronde,
Selon une autre caractéristique de l'invention, le joint précité qui présente, de préférence, une section circulaire est constitué par une ma- tière vulcanisable à basse température, ce joint étant emmmanché à la presse dans la rainure en queue d'aronde et vulcanisé après sa mise en place dans la- dite rainure,
Selon une formé de réalisation préférée de l'invention.
a) Le couvre-culasse est pourvu, le long de chacun de ses deux bords longitudinaux inférieurs d'une lèvre de guidage, en saillie par rapport à la base dudit couvre-culasse et extérieure au joint d'étanchéité.

b) A sa partie supérieure le couvre-culasse est pourvu d'ailettes longitudinales de refroidissement convenablement interrompues pour la mise en place des écrous de fixation du couvre-culasse, celui-ci étant également muni d'un raccord taraudé dans lequel est monté, par vissage, un bouchon pour la récupération des vapeurs d'huile.
c) Le bouchon monté sur le couvre-culasse comporte une chambre col- lectrice des vapeurs d'huile et en communication avec l'air libre, cette cham- bre étant, en outre, en communication avec l'intérieur du couvre-culasse par un alésage conique prévu dans le corps du bouchon et garni de deux toiles mé- talliques formant filtre, emmanchées à la presse.
D'autres caractéristiques et avantages de l'invention ressortiront de la description qui va suivre en regard du dessin annexé, donné uniquement à titre d'exemple et dans lequel :
La Fig. 1 est une vue en perspective d'un couvre-culasse.
La fig.2 est une vue en coupe transversale suivant II-II de la fige 1, illustrant une variante de réalisation.
Selon l'exemple d'exécution représenté à la fige 1, le couvre-cu- lasse 1 est réalisé en un alliage léger fondu, la forme et les dimensions de ce couvre-culasse étant appropriées à celles de la culasse du moteur sur le- quel il doit être monté.
A sa partie supérieure, le couvre-culasse est pourvu d'ailettes de refroidissement longitudinales 2, convenablement interrompues pour le pas- sage de deux écrous 3 servant à l'immobilisation dudit couvre-culasse.
Approximativement en son milieu le couvre-culasse est également pourvu d'un raccord taraudé 4, servant au montage d'un bouchon pour la récu- pération des vapeurs d'huile et qui sera décrit ci-après.
A sa base et sur chacun de ses deux bords longitudinaux le couvre- culasse (figs. 1 et 2) présente une lèvre de guidage 5, en saillie par rapport à ladite base. Les deux lèvres 5 sont extérieures à un joint d'étanchéité 6, de préférence de section circulaire, logé dans une rainure 1 présentant en sec- tion la forme d'une queue d'aronde et prévue sur tout le pourtour de la base du couvre-culasse 1.
Pour l'obtention d'un joint d'étanchéité ne se désagrégeant pas, le joint 6 est réalisé en une matière vulcanisable à basse température, ce joint étant emmanché à la presse dans la rainure 7 et vulcanisé dans cette rainure après sa mise en place.
En ce qui concerne le bouchon 8 pour la récupération des vapeurs d'huile, il comporte une tête creusée de manière à former une chambre .2 pour la récupération des vapeurs. Cette chambre communique, d'une part, avec l'air libre par des trous 10 et, d'autre part, avec l'intérieur du couvre-culasse 1 par un alésage conique 11 prévu dans le'corps 12 dudit bouchon, qui est mon- té par vissage dans le raccord taraudé à du couvre-culasse 1. Dans l'alésage 11 sont montées deux toiles métalliques 13 et 14 formant filtre et emmanchées à la presse.
Il va de soi que le couvre-culasse n'a été décrit et représenté qu'à titre purement explicatif, nullement limitatif et que diverses modifica- tions de détail pourraient être apportées aux formes de réalisation indiquées sans qu'on sorte pour cela du domaine de l'invention. C'est ainsi que le nom- bre des ailettes pourra être quelconque et que les formes etdimensions ducou- vre-culasse devront être appropriées au type du moteur devant le recevoir.
