METIER A TISSER.-
EMI1.1

LOOM.-
The present invention relates to a loom and especially to a Jacquard loom.
It is known that certain types of weaving loom are provided with a device which instantly and automatically stops the operation of the machine as soon as the pick breaks or is missing in the crowd. This device stops on the broken or missing pick so that the various parts of the loom are immediately blocked in a perfectly synchronized position with respect to each other so that, as soon as the pick is repaired, the operations can continue so there is no need to untwist before restarting the weaving work.
In addition, it is known that Jacquard looms include, among other things, a mechanism with mobile hooks in a vertical reciprocating movement. In looms of this type built up to the present day, this hook mechanism continues its movement for a certain time after stopping the other parts of the loom following, for example, the breaking of the Urie screen. part of the loom being stopped, the mechanics continue to operate so that it is necessary to untwist before continuing the work *
The present invention, the object of which is to eliminate these drawbacks, consists in providing on a loom of the Jacquard type a device for total stopping of the loom when the weft breaks or runs out.
EMI1.1
For this purpose it is,
following a "'èârâotéristiquep planned to stop in synchronism the Jacquard mechanism and the members of the loom whose operation is suspended by the breakage or lack of weft.
According to an advantageous embodiment, the stopping device acts on the hooks of the mechanism which 'are blocked in the position they occupied at the time of stopping' This device is constituted by a

rack carrying a series of fingers able to wedge the hooks in position; this rack which, in normal operation, follows the evolutions of the mechanics, is, when stopping the loom, pushed downwards so that its fingers maintain the hooks on the knives or come to slip between them. so-called hooks and knives. The rack is operated, for example, by a set of levers and cams or other system controlled by stopping the loom.
The present invention will be more easily understood by reference to the following description of the accompanying drawings, which show, by way of illustration, one embodiment of the invention.
The figure is a partial schematic view of a device according to the invention.
In this figure, only the elements necessary for an understanding of the invention have been shown, that is to say that only part of the Jacquard mechanism has been shown schematically.
In a Jacquard loom., The grid 1 undergoes, in normal operation, a back and forth movement along the arrows X. Its lower stroke is limited by the stops 2. On the grid are mounted the cutters. teaux such as 3 on which possibly come to rest the curved ends 4 of the hooks 5. As is known, the latter undergo at determined times a selection thanks to a perforated cylinder not shown and to needles such as 6, the following movement of which Y causes the projection 6 'to bring the hook out of reach of the corresponding knife of the grid. This hook is not lifted during the movement of the grid upwards.
According to the present invention, with the grid 1, is associated a rack 7 furnished with fingers 8. During normal changes in the trade, this rack follows the changes in the grid. If the pick breaks or runs out, the lower part of the loom stops instantly. According to one characteristic of the invention, this stop causes, for example by a system (not shown) with levers and cams, the forced movement of the rack 7 downwards. In this way, the fingers 8 come to rest on the hooks 5 or between them and the knives; these hooks are therefore locked in position, synchronous with les.autres parts of the loom. They were arrested during their movement.
As soon as the accident is repaired, the start-up does not require any untangling, since the work of the Jacquard machine has been suspended.
