Conformément à la présente inventions qui est un perfectionne- ment ou une modification du dispositif décrit dans le paragraphe qui pré- cède immédiatement, la bille chargée d'un ressort est remplacée par une agrafe-ressort venant en engagement avec une gorge de l'axe sur lequel le rouleau est monté, et qui engage également une rainure ou un évidement pratiqué dans un manchon entourant l'axe ou une partie de l'axe,;

ROLLER FOR TEXTILE MACHINES.
The invention relates to rollers known under the name of stretching rollers, intended for use in association with textile machines, these rolls being ordinarily provided with a removable cover, for example of leather, and being mounted in pairs on an axis.
In Main Patent No. 496,192 (Application No. 3860696) of June 7, 1950, the Applicant has described and claimed an arrangement in which each roll is held in place with the aid of a retainer comprising a ball. loaded with a spring engaging a groove formed in the axis,
In accordance with the present inventions which is an improvement or a modification of the device described in the immediately preceding paragraph, the ball loaded with a spring is replaced by a spring clip coming into engagement with a groove of the axis. on which the roller is mounted, and which also engages a groove or a recess made in a sleeve surrounding the axis or part of the axis;
Two constructive provisions of the invention are illustrated by the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a general view of a stretching roll.
Fig. 2 is a detail view on an enlarged scale,
Fig. 3 is a section taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 2; and '
Fig 4 is a detail view of a modified layout.
Figo 5 is a section taken along line 5-5 of Figo 4.

the two halves of an axle. 9 the two halves being connected together by a coupling b. Each half-axis is surrounded by a roller covered with holes ,, 2, anti-friction rolling rollers d being interposed between each roller a and its axis portion ,,
In accordance with the present invention, in the provision or

shape illustrated by figures l = -3j) each roller 2 is held in place with respect to its axis by means of a manahon and a cooperating spring clip f This clip fits into an internal recess e9 formed in the sleeve e and when it is in place,
it also engages a groove E formed in the axis.
In the slightly modified arrangement shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the sleeve e comprises an external groove e, the bottom of which has substantially the shape of a D, the straight portion being brought to a sufficient depth to intersect the bore of the sleeve.
EMI2.3
The staple-resxort f receives a conformation identical to that of the bottom of the groove which it closely matches, so that the rectilinear portion r of the staple-spring enters the groove g of the axis a9, thus locking the sleeve on the axle.
An important advantage inherent in the present invention is that the rollers are held in place on the axles in such a way that the whole device forms a unit which can be easily handled, while removal of the rollers from the axles and their replacement can be achieved.

can be done easily without the aid of tools. CLAIMS.
