  NOUVEL -EMBALLAGE ETANCHE.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  NEW WATERPROOF PACKAGING.

   The present invention relates to a novel sealed packaging and in particular to a quick-closing sealed packaging of the slide type.

  This packaging is intended in particular, but obviously in a non-exclusive manner, for the packaging of fabric coupons, these coupons moreover being able to be wrapped, in any suitable size and shape.

   Garment covers are already known, consisting of flexible and transparent plastic sheets, and provided on at least part of their periphery with a metal slider closure.

  These covers cannot be qualified as waterproof, since they often include orifices intended for the passage of the element for fastening the garment, -stem of the coat rack, for example. - On the other hand, the metal slider closure is not waterproof by itself. It also has the drawback of oxidizing and when it is in contact with the protected tissue, there is the risk in certain cases of degrading it.

   These drawbacks are particularly troublesome when it comes to transporting or leaving the wrapped fabric to stay in noxious, corrosive, humid atmospheres or containing suspended matter, germs, insects, etc. wants to protect the fabric.

   The new packaging according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks and it is characterized in that while being made of a plastic material, preferably transparent, it is provided in its opening with a closure to, cur .seur of a type known in the trade and capable of uniting by fitting the edges of two strips also of plastic material on which the actual edges of the opening are attached by welding.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   This packaging therefore has the advantage of being absolutely waterproof. In addition, because the material which constitutes it is transparent, it is possible to identify the fabric or to choose it without having to open the packaging, samples identical to the wrapped coupon always being able to be presented separately to the customer.

   The invention will be clearly understood by referring to the appended drawing in which:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a packaging according to the invention.

   Fig. 2 is a section of this package taken transversely to the closure.

   In the embodiment shown in the accompanying drawing, the packaging is seen at 1, consisting of a single sheet of transparent plastic material, inside which is placed a coupon 2, for example an individual drapery coupon.

   The sheet constituting the packaging which may, for example, be made of vinyl resin, is shaped, in this non-exclusive embodiment, so as to have an opening extending between points 3, 4 and 5.

  Accessibility is therefore perfect.

   The edges 1a and 1b of the opening of the packaging are attached, for example to the press for welding the thermoplastic materials, respectively to the outer edges of the bands 6 and 7, constituting the slide closure of known type. The internal edges of the strips 6, which are also made of plastic material, have grooves and ribs 6a and 6b, 7a and 7b, cooperating under the action of the sliding slider 8. The shape of this closure allows, as is easy to note this, to avoid any jamming or tearing of the fabric by the cursor.

   All assembly of the edges of the sheet between them, apart from the following part, and if they are imposed by the shape, are made by welding.

   It goes without saying that it is possible, without departing from the scope of the invention, to make modifications to the embodiments which have just been described; in particular, the packaging according to the invention can be produced in any desired shape and size, using one or more welded thermoplastic sheets.

   These sheets may be transparent or, on the contrary, tinted to protect the fabric from light. The bands of the watertight closure may extend over any desired length of the package and be disposed on any side thereof.
