ELECTROFILTER OF CHIMNEY WITH DUST COLLECTOR IN, THE
CHIMNEY AND CENTRIFUGAL SEPARATION OF DUST.
The object of the invention is a chimney electrostatic precipitator in which, in accordance with the known arrangement, it is provided in the interior of the chimney, namely, in the central part of the section thereof, below. of the group of electrodes, a dust collector, a centrifugal dust pre-separator being interposed in the path of the gas going to this chimney.
In the embodiments of installations of this type, known to date, the outlet duct of the mechanical pre-separation system opened into the chimney on one side of the recessed collector intended for the dust of the electrostatic precipitator, so that it was difficult to achieve a uniform distribution of the gas at the inlet over the entire section of the chimney, distribution favorable to the operation of the electrostatic precipitator
Having observed this drawback, provision has been made for the object of the invention such that the gas discharged by the centrifugal dust pre-separator opens into the chimney on both sides of the dust collector of the electrostatic precipitator A. this end, and, according to the invention, it is possible to provide, for the pre-separation,
for example two or more cyclones arranged below the chimney and of which the gas outlet ducts which terminate in the chimney can be easily distributed over the spaces which fill the section of the chimney next to the hopper-d 'built-in electrostatic precipitator, so that the required uniform distribution of the gas is ensured The different cyclones are in this case grouped parallel to the longitudinal axis of the chimney and around this axis, so that the dust hopper forming part of the electrostatic precipitator of the chimney is heated by the gas outlet ducts of the pre-separator group, which prevents condensation in this hopper.
Instead of providing two or more cyclones, it is possible to have a single centrifugal separator, provided that care is taken that the gas which has undergone a pre-dedusting and leaving this separator is repaired uniformly.

ment on the spaces which occupy the section of the chimney next to the electrostatic precipitator.
The accompanying drawings show two exemplary embodiments of the invention.
In the installation according to Figs. 1 to 3, the electrodes 2 of the electrostatic precipitator are placed in the vertical chimney 1. The dust separated in the electrostatic precipitator goes through the known chutes 3 towards the collector 4 which occupies the central part of the section of the chimney., as shown in particular in FIG. 2, and the bottom 5 of which converging in the form of a funnel connects to the exhaust duct 6. According to the invention, two cyclones 7, 8 are arranged under the chimney 1 parallel to the axis of the latter. ; they are supplied with gas laden with dust; from the dust source 9 using the conveyor device 10 and through the bifurcated duct II.
The gas outlet fittings 12 of the cyclones open into the chimney 1 via the flares 13 provided on either side of the dust collector 4, 5, thus ensuring a uniform distribution of the gas over the section of the group of electrodes 2. On the other hand, this arrangement ensures the heating of the bottom 5 of the dust hopper and prevents the dust from absorbing moisture and obstructing the duct 6.
In the example of Figs. 4 to 6, the lower end of the chimney 1 has a bottom 14 in the form of a funnel, to which the exhaust duct 15o is connected. The gas outlet fittings 12 of the cyclones 7, 8 open into the chimney at 16, on either side of the dust collector 4, 5, so that also a uniform distribution of the gas is ensured. For the rest, the overall arrangement essentially corresponds to those of Figs. 1 to 3
It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the details shown here. Thus, for example, instead of two cyclones, a larger number of them can be grouped around the dust exit passages of the chimney.
In addition, it is possible to use a centrifugal separator of the multitubular type, the gas outlet connection of which opens, in accordance with the invention, on two sides of the dust hopper.
