VERNIS "LAQUE DENTAIRE".
---------------------- 1. FORMULE 54 - 4 54. a. SOUS-COUCHE. Gomme Sandaraque 0.5
Alcool Ethylique 50.0 acétone 49.5 b. VERNIS. Oxyde de Titane 1.5
Gomme Sandaraque 9.5
Acétate de Polyvinyle 4.0 alcool Ethylique 21.0 détone 64. 0 2. PREPARATION DU VEHNIS "LAQUi. DENTAIRE". a. SOUS-COUCHE. Laisser dissoudre 0.5 p. ue GOMME SAN@ARAQUE dans 50 p. d'ALCOOL ETHYLIQUE et 49.5 p. D'AC@TT@N@ b. VERNIS. 1. Laisser dissoudre 9.5 p. de GOMME SHNSARAQUM dans
21 p. d'ALCOOL ETHYLIQUE et 20 p. d'ACETON@.
3. REMARQUES. a.

"DENTAL LACQUER" VARNISH.
---------------------- 1. FORM 54 - 4 54. a. UNDERCOAT. Sandarac gum 0.5
Ethyl alcohol 50.0 acetone 49.5 b. VARNISH. Titanium Oxide 1.5
Sandaraque gum 9.5
Polyvinyl Acetate 4.0 Ethyl alcohol 21.0 detonates 64. 0 2. PREPARATION OF VEHNIS "LAQUi. DENTAL". at. UNDERCOAT. Let dissolve 0.5 p. ue GOMME SAN @ ARAQUE in 50 p. ETHYL ALCOHOL and 49.5 p. D'AC @ TT @ N @ b. VARNISH. 1. Let dissolve 9.5 p. by GOMME SHNSARAQUM in
21 p. ETHYL ALCOHOL and 20 p. of ACETON @.
2. Add to solution 1. 1. 5 p. TIIAN2 OXIDE and grind the mixture until a suspension is obtained with the grain size of DE OXYD.
TITANIUM is of the order of 2 to 3 microns.
3. Let 4 p dissolve. of POLYVINYL ACETATE in 44p. of ACETONE.
4. Add solution 3 to suspension 2 while mixing well.
3. REMARKS. at. By VARNISH "DENTAL LACQUER", it is necessary to understand the liquid preparation given by the formula 54 - 484; Simply put, "DENTAL LACQUER" means the residue that remains adhering to the teeth after spontaneous drying of the varnish. b. In order to improve the olfactory properties of "DENTAL LACQUER" VARNISH, certain essences or odoriferous substances can be added to it, provided that they are inoffensive and compatible with the other constituents. o.
Formula 54 - 484 is to be considered as a standard formula, mentioned as a practical example; however, it is not in any way limiting, given that it is perfectly suitable and possible either to use other raw materials.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
materials, which will be described in the CLAIMS, or to vary the contents of the different constituents - be wide limits, while retaining the fundamental property of the "DENTAL LACQUER" in particular the perfect ANCHORING to living teeth.
In this connection, one can for example vary the content of TITANIUM OXIDE from 0 to 10%, replace the titanium oxide with KAOLIN, with SILICA or similar pigments; or combine different pigments to prepare a whole range of varnishes, from transparent to opaque, including all the intermediate, translucent and opalescent varieties. one also designs the preparation of the whole range in combination with certain coloring materials or with colored pigments and even with certain fluorescent materials, or again with pigments with a metallic reflection, eg. ex. gold or silver.
As for the other constituents, in particular the GUM SAN-
DARASUE and POLYVINYL ACETATE, it is also possible to vary their respective contents while retaining the ANCHORING property already mentioned; these variations will make it possible to act on the gloss, the degree of hardness, the plasticity or the residual elasticity of the DENTAL LACQUER. The use of these resins is also not limiting, given that by incorporating into the VARNISH "LACQUER DENTAL" RESI-
HYDROPHOBIC NES belonging to other classes of natural resins, modified or not, or of synthetic resins, described in the CLAIMS, it is perfectly possible to constitute an equivalent formula.
