Fig. 1 est une élévation latérale ;
Fig. 2 est une vue en plan, et

  Circular saw for outriggers and similar pieces of wood.

   The present invention relates to a circular saw for beams and similar pieces of wood of the type comprising a circular saw blade mounted on the shaft of a control motor and a movable carriage for supporting the workpiece, able to move in parallel, along the saw blade.

   This circular saw is remarkable in particular in that the drive motor is mounted with the circular saw blade on a movable plate whose path of movement is parallel to that of the carriage, the movable plate and the carriage being ac- tivated. coupled together by a movement transmission device such that the movement of the carriage in one direction necessarily causes the movement of the movable plate in the other direction. The movable plate and the carriage thus perform a relative movement, from which it follows that the carriage and the part which it supports only travel a path equal to x for a cutting length.
2 equal to x.

   In the attached drawing, given only as an example:
Fig. 1 is a side elevation;
Fig. 2 is a plan view, and
Fig. 3 is a front view of an embodiment of the circular saw according to the invention.

   According to the embodiment shown, the support frame a of the circular saw has two support arms a1 directed forward and supports two guide rails b which serve to guide a carriage c for supporting the outriggers. The cross-sections of the support frame a of the saw support two further guide rails d, directed parallel to the rails b and a little lower than them. This second pair of rails serves to guide a movable plate e on which an electric control motor f is mounted. A circular saw blade is attached to the shaft of this motor, so that the carriage. ±. can also move parallel in front of it. At the height of the support surface of the carriage. ±. is arranged a support board h, below which moves the movable plate on which is mounted the motor.

   A grooved pulley i, rotatable about a vertical axis, is mounted on each end of the inner rail of the pair of guide rails b. An endless cable il, passing over these two pulleys, is attached by its posterior strand to the movable plate ± and by its front strand to the carriage c, so that when the carriage advances in one direction, the plate necessarily advances at the same speed in the other direction.

  It is easy to see that, under these conditions, the total length of the machine becomes much shorter since, for one cutting length, each of the two carriages only has to travel x-half of the path, as well as it emerges from FIG. 1.

   Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown, which has been given only by way of example; this is how the movement transmission mechanism

 By means of grooved pulleys and cable can be replaced by a chain sprocket mechanism and chain or by a rack mechanism.
