Fig. 1 est une vue en élévation et coupe d'un appareil de pro- jection conforme à l'invention ;
Fig. 2 est une vue en plan de dessus corre spondante ;
Fig. 3 est une vue de détail, en coupe, d'un assemblage ;

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

IMPROVEMENTS TO PRESSURIZED LIQUID SPRAYING DEVICES
The invention relates to pressurized liquid spraying devices, applicable to various uses and in particular to the projection and orientation of liquid jets intended for scouring the ground and for transporting land for the execution of cuttings. and similar works.
Its main purpose is to make these devices more manageable and more efficient than those proposed so far.
To this end it consists in making them understand hollow members, capable of serving as conduits for the pressurized liquid, joined together by sliding assemblies, the axes of which are substantially perpendicular to each other, so as to make it capable of rotating with respect to each other, around said axes, allowing any desired orientation of the projection nozzle,
It also consists in establishing preferably one of the hollow members in the form of a fork by organizing it to rotate around its handle as a pivot, while another hollow member, the general conformation of which is that of a T, is mounted oscillating between the branches of the fork.
This ensures, together with a minimal pressure drop of the pressurized liquid, the possibility of mounting.

easy ge and mechanical balancing of the components, facilitating maintenance and operation of the device.
Other features and advantages of the invention will emerge from the following description of a preferred embodiment, given by way of example, and illustrated more or less schematically by the appended drawing, in which:
Fig. 1 is a view in elevation and in section of a projection apparatus according to the invention;
Fig. 2 is a corresponding top plan view;
Fig. 3 is a detail view, in section, of an assembly;
Fig. 4 shows in section the detail of part of the projection nozzle.
Referring to the drawing, 1 generally designates a base, which may be of any kind and shape, mobile or not, and which has been shown as consisting of the end section of a pressurized liquid supply pipe, 2 is a hollow member, in particular a pipe section of uniform circular section, forming a liquid supply nozzle. In the member 2 is fixed in any way, for example by scudure, a cross provided in the center with a threaded opening 4 and on which rests at one end a sleeve 5 which may or may not be fixed to said brace.
On the member 2 is threaded the cylindrical end portion 6 of a hollow member 7, having the general shape of a fork with arcuate branches 8, the said end portion having at its end a collar, shaped like a bowl, 9, in which is provided with a gasket 10 held in place and pressed against the member 2 by a ring 11 assembled in any adjustable manner with the flange 9, for example by means of the bolts 12.
At the internal junction of the branches 8 of the fork is provided an opening 13, surrounded by a sleeve 14 with flange 15, with which cooperates a cover 16 secured in place by bolts or the like with the interposition of a gasket 17. Centrally, the cover 16 is provided with a cup lg, integral or attached, in which is placed a lining 19, said cup being suitable for coming to rest, by its lower face, on the upper end. of man-

chon 5 above.
In the assembly is threaded an assembly bolt 20, by interposing preferably on the one hand a pressure ring 21 for the gasket 19 and on the other hand a thrust bearing, for example with balls, 22, the assembly thus produced providing a proper pivot to allow easy rotation of the fork 6-7 around the axis XX of the unit 2, both empty and loaded, the fork actually resting on the sleeve 5 when pressurized liquid is not sent into the device, while the pressure is transferred to the pad 22 when the line 1 is supplied.
At the outer ends of the branches 8 of the fork 7 are mounted flanges 23 of circular contour and parallel to each other, between which is disposed a hollow member, having the general shape of a T, 24 .. On the ends of the horizontal branch of the T are arranged linings 25, pressed against these ends and the flanges 23 by cup-shaped rings, 26, assembled to said flanges by any suitable adjustable means, such as bolts 2 (.
The bearing surfaces being judiciously chosen, we realize that the member 24 can very easily be brought into oscillation around the transverse axis YY of the horizontal branch of the T. To the other branch 26 of the T is fixed the 'projection nozzle, preferably conical, 29, secured in position by any suitable means, such as bolts 30 and interposition of a seal 31, on a flange 32 of said branch. Preferably opposite or nearly to the branch 28 of the T, but otherwise in any other location deemed suitable of the T-member, is fixed an operating lever, partially shown at 33, which is secured, for example by an end flange 34 and studs 35, on a base 36 integral with or attached to the horizontal branch of the T.
It is easy to set the lever 33 so that its static actuation approximately balances that of the nozzle 29 on the oscillating bearing surfaces of the member 24, thus making the orientation in the vertical direction of the body particularly easy. this nozzle.
The free end of the latter is preferably provided with a
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
projection head 37 as shown in FIG. 4, which shows, at a short distance from the edge and opening into an internal annular groove 38, a series of perforations 39, as well as a threaded portion 40 engaged on a corresponding threaded portion 41 of the nozzle 29.
In operation, the formation, around the liquid jet, of an air sheath suitable for regularizing the bundle of liquid streams leaving the nozzle is thus obtained.
As emerges from the foregoing description, in operation, and by an appropriate action on the lever 33, the entire apparatus can be pivoted about the axis XX and, on the other hand, the T-member 24 around the YY axis, allowing the jet coming out of the nozzle 29 to be given any desired orientation, necessary to carry out the scour or excavation work to be carried out.
As goes without saying, and retrieve moreover we have already let it be understood, it is understood that the invention is not limited to the details of execution more especially described and represented, but that it also comprises variants and equivalents.
